Harley freezes, wiping his hands on his thighs. He stares for a moment before he realises he's being very weird and also seems to notice the bruises peppering Peter's skin. "Hey," he says, breathless, although mostly concerned. "You... okay? Lookin' a little beaten up there, Peter."

Peter immediately shakes his head, taking half a step back and avoiding eye contact with Harley. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Had a run-in with a door." He huffs a halfhearted laugh, putting on a smile that's definitely strained.

"Crazy door, huh," Harley notes, eyes shifting to the bruise to examine it. He's ran into a door before—he knows usually it's the nose that hurts, not a massive swelling black eye. "You want ice? I can, um, get you ice."

"Mhm," Peter hums. He doubts that Harley's buying it, but he doesn't plan on telling him the truth. "And yes, please, ice would be great."

Harley nods and begins to move towards the kitchen, keeping an eye on Peter as if he might flee if Harley doesn't watch him. He knows something is up, but he doesn't want to pry so much that he scares Peter. Something is clearly wrong.
