a little list of nuke headcanons and explanations regarding a fic i am about to post:
i was unsure of how to characterize nick in relation to luke (its not like telltale gives us a lot to work with, anyways) and i realized i sympathized with nicks plight so much, i really wanted to find a way for him and luke to be fucked up together instead of luke saving nick. emphasis on fucked up: how would you ever have a normal relationship during the apocalypse, lol? telltale laid the first brick anyways with sarita and kenny (even if they ... fucked that too...)
really, i think nick and luke would lean on each other an unhealthy amount (if telltale werent cowards). they would be a little dream team ingame because theyre both just guys except luke takes on more than he can handle (my source: how he acts when he comes back to the compound) and nick is burdened with being a sensitive guy
also because everybody else is dead? like, no joking, they all dropped like flies especially after clem appeared? (once again telltale HOW do you refuse to keep characters alive)
"coming to tuck me in?" yeah i see you casual expression of closeness and familiarity
not a nuke headcanon but i struggle so much with coherent stories the past few years i used to be so good at making a text flow and now i just want to write stupid little snippets of emotions... take my fic not as a coherent one shot and more as container for two moments i wanted to write. also wrote it all over the span of three days between 11pm and 2 am (big tired emoji)
