Originally, I started this Tumblr blog as a way to track African American and audiences of color's engagement with fandom. As many of you know, fandom studies remain a largely white audience centered phenomena. My interest was in the conversation taking shape around race and sexuality in fandoms. My project never launched, instead I focused on the idea of using Tumblr as a repository space for reaching communities that are traditionally not well represented in traditional archival spaces. While I am still interested in fan-fiction, popular culture, and communities of color, my energies are channeled into other areas right now I work as a Humanities Librarian at a Urban institution, and I am loving every minute of it!!!
