See everyone likes to say that Atsushi pointing a gun at Akutagawa in Dead Apple and saying “this isn’t how we do things in the Detective Agency” is hypocritical but I would disagree.
That gun is the only weapon that Atsushi has right now and it is clearly meant to serve as more of a warning than a direct threat. The thing about these two is that they have only ever communicated through violence and right now Atsushi needs Akutagawa to listen to him.
Not to mention Atsushi’s pointing a gun at Akutagawa because Akutagawa just threatened to kill Dazai. He said oh Dazai’s with the enemy? If he crosses my path I will kill him.
Shockingly Atsushi is completely against that idea and the faith that he has that Dazai hasn’t betrayed them all is completely in line with how the Agency operates.
They all know Dazai’s missing and trust he’s got in handled and has a plan that’ll help. It doesn’t matter that they don’t know that plan or they’re split apart. One of the strengths of the Agency is that they can fight the same battle on different fronts.
And that’s happening now.
They don’t know what Dazai’s up to but they trust he’s doing his best to protect this city in the way he knows how.
Not to mention that because of that one case by the river in S1 Atsushi knows what the Port Mafia does to traitors. He knows what Akutagawa might do to Dazai so he’s telling him hey this isn’t the Port Mafia this isn’t how we do things in the Agency leave him to his fight while we focus on ours.
Atsushi’s not a hypocrite he’s doing what anyone in the Agency would’ve done in that moment.
“Personally I have no interest in saving the day but me and my partner come as a duo that can't be sold separately so now I have no other choice than to tag along in their fight to save the world” is an excellent ship dynamic actually
caught
Each time I rewatch Dead Apple, I laugh at that look Akutagawa gives Atsushi when Shibusawa asks Atsushi if he wants to kill him again.
Akutagawa looks like he is mildly curious and a little turned on by the fact that Atsushi’s hands are a little bloody.
Settle down boy

I found out something great that can be used for Atsushi centered fanfics. When I tiger wants something they will sometimes act cute to get it like nuzzling another tiger or laying down and acting cute. They will also curl their tail around another tigers face to tease them.
Thinking about this, and sskk. There's just this... I think that after Atsushi and Akutagawa have started dating- they're still so different in their roles you know? Akutagawa may not kill anymore but he's still a mafioso, who engages in illegal activity on a daily basis, and Atsushi is still a detective, who tries to be as law-abiding as possible; and thinking about how sometimes the two things will unavoidably clash. Like Akutagawa is driving the two of them to a restaurant for a date, when he's pulled over by the police, but he definitely doesn't have a driver license. And Atsushi is-- not distressed, he doesn't get distressed when he's with Akutagawa, but rather... A mix of annoyed (why did that happen when they were together), embarassed (the police officer is just doing their job), and irritated at Akutagawa (“GOD please don't mutilate them they're. just. doing their job”).
And what I'm (very messily) trying to pinpoint here is Atsushi's very very grey morality, where he generally attends to the law when it's about himself, but at the same time won't have much trouble with being complicit of Akutagawa because... He doesn't actually believe in the law. I have a feeling that every time Atsushi would reprimand Akutagawa for breaking the law is not much because Atsushi believes in the law himself, but rather just because he loves to stir up Akutagawa and show off how much more lawful and respectful and overall better than him he is; after all, we know for sure Atsushi is perfectly capable of being a mafioso himself.
Idk. Something something and bsd's intrinsically grey morality. Atsushi is a law-abiding citizen on the regular, but really I don't think he takes *that much* issue with Akutagawa driving him around even if he doesn't have a driver license, or paying the bill at an expensive restaurant once in a while, or using his allegedly blood-stained-money to buy him a new led tv or something. After all, at the end of the day, he loves Akutagawa all around, right? I think, that includes his illegal sides pfftttt.

Yay! It's finished!
I've been working on a new Bungou Stray Dogs emote set (that I'll be listing soon) and it's finally finished ♥️♥️♥️
thinking about statues of Grace being built all around Erid years after his passing so he can continue to watch over Eridians as they sleep
Grace who can only recreate a few Eridian words and who is so excited he is able to say the everyday version of Adrian's name... however, he doesn't know that that isn't Adrian's name but something akin to 'Adrian, my love', because that's what Rocky calls them. Like those toddlers who think their mom's name is honey
Humans need some amount of ambient radiation to survive, aka UV from the Sun, so we can function properly. Meaning that the eridians had to add UV to the light systems on Grace's dome. But considering eridians were not built for nearly as much ambient radiations as Earth lifeforms have, it wouldbe harmful for them on the long-run. So consider:
They turn off the UV whenever an eridian is inside the dome, and Grace can feel it if he's outside. That's how he has about 5 minutes of a heads-up before Rocky is knocking on his door;
They put light filters on the xenonite suits, meaning Grace can make a thousand different sunglasses jokes whenever Rocky shows up with the smoked up paneled suit;
They put a sunroom where the UV lamps are and Grace can go there for his daily dose of sunrays. It's also where he goes to bully Rocky with a friendly cold shoulder, since he can't come inside.

If you add 3 sentences to your work in progress and show me, I will add 4 sentences to my work in progress and show you.
I’ve already begun to edit and expand it. I think I’m going to read ToA before I finish it, though. I’m sure there would be some good scenes to add from the series.
This is the last paragraph that I plan to write for this chapter. So I think I'm going to start editing it now.

Bet. Before I could walk, when I did it felt as if every step made was made with something left behind in my wake, if not blood, then what energy there was remaining within me, like rainwater left to collect at the bottom of a bucket, what there was to be sapped away in manufacturing the muscle movement to spin sinew into another step, weaker than the last.
I certainly feel like a bucket collecting rainwater, a hollow husk, cracked and chipped from strong weather and erosion wearing away my resolve, threatening to tip me over without the weight of water which would ordinarily keep me rooted. Only now there is barely an inch or any rainwater, what water there is seeps and sloughs like snow melting away into slush by sea-foam, frail and shivering in soft sopping sobbing lacing heavy husky rattling respiration between subtle subdued grunts of exertion which every tired tug and pull elbows calloused against cold concrete stained in sweat like finish upon wood.
With chest heaving, I roll onto my back, battery critically low, what energy is left not to be wasted in arguing against gravity, rather I use my legs for another purpose other than standing. With some difficulty, scooting closer, wincing as my hip howls in leftover agony, I glance past my calf, narrowing my eyes under dim light, I do my best to align myself right and reach the button to shut the garage door with my heel.
