For years after 9/11 we were constantly told “NEVER FORGET” and the idea was basically “keep feeling sad and afraid and especially ANGRY forever; don’t let time dull your emotional response like it’s naturally supposed to; continue to justify the injustices by feeling this way all the time.” And the 3000 deaths were constantly pointed to as this huge deal that justified any lengths to go to.

And then Covid hit. And there were several points during the height of the pandemic (because fun fact, according to the actual definitions of a pandemic, *it’s not technically over yet!* ) where we were having a 9/11’s worth of deaths every week or so. And suddenly 3000 deaths were not a big deal at all. Instead of being enough reason to go to war far away and strip us at home of many rights too, they weren’t even enough justification to make people wear a damn piece of fabric over their face.

3000 people died once and now the government can legally wiretap anyone without a warrant, and hold people at Gitmo under suspicion of terrorism (no need for due process)… 3000 people dying every week but we should all still be going out to brunch and concerts and who cares about the disabled and immunocompromised?

I washed my MLP plush today and I was very funny about the Fluttershy pose

a currently nameless oc who ive been calling THE ONE so far, might stick. dont know much about her but her hair is supposed to be like lead tinsel (possibly actual lead) and the hands on her mark move when youre not looking

kind of older art, started with me wanting to make one of those nostalgic "marry sue" type overly designed ocs but then i liked her too much and gave her a cohesive colour palette.

Yesterday I had a good time starting tarot card for the fool but I really wanted to throw in some story element like them playing her violin to distract the crowd this is for the warlock pact she made with a retired showman.

Harmonycon 2026 - Charity Trading Cards

At this year's Harmonycon, AlkaneWreath attended with binder full of blank trading cards and a mission: get all 180+ popular MLP:FIM characters listed in the folder drawn by different artists, and donate the result to the charity auction. They also provided a massive set of alcohol markers to borrow!

Unfortunately, 2 days wasn't nearly enough time to draw ALL the ponies, but the total count was at least 80 and it opened the charity auction with an impressive (but far too low) $350 donation.

Harmonycon 2026 - OVER 100 Ponies Per Hour

My signature panel, 100 Ponies Per Hour, returned for HC 2026, featuring AlkaneWreath (black sharpie), @arcanethunder (blue sharpie), and @ponyforhire (MC) ((I am the purple))! We had a lot of hurdles this time around, like Discord almost killing my computer (leaving me sleep deprived) and my ever-busted Audio Out port ruining the music plans. Despite the 11:30 PM Friday slot, we still had almost 20 participants, and tons of incredible art to show off!
