Sick!Grayson x reader

Being sheriff means Grayson rarely takes sick days unless she absolutely has to. This time was no different from the rest, your uncharacteristically frail lover would say something about how it was “just a cold” and to “not worry about it” but you knew better than that. (Poor thing looked like she could barely lift her cup of morning coffee.)

You dragged her back to bed and placed a blanket over her and strongly insisted that she stayed home. “You can’t go out into the field when you can’t even hold yourself up, Grayson. You need rest.” She begrudgingly agreed when she felt her head release another pang of pain.

She’s stubborn when you first start taking care of her. She will insist that she could do it herself, until you say that she “..probably won’t find a prettier nurse elsewhere.” She cracks a smile at that, raising her hands in defeat.

Make her soup, bring it to her with a kiss on the forehead and she’ll practically melt right there on the bed.

“Thank you love.” She would always say with a faint smile, sheepishly accepting your help.

If her headache subsides, she’ll ask you to read to her as she rests. Falling asleep to the sweet sound of your voice is a luxury that she wants to be spoiled with.

She tries to keep her distance when she's unwell, but she will allow you to run your hands through her hair and massage her temples if her condition permits it.

She hates hospitals. Hates medical facilities in general. She’ll go if she absolutely has to but they’re her last resort.

Grayson x secretary!reader fluff headcanons

at first, she wasn’t sure how to properly court you. She started with small gestures to show her affections; sending flowers to your desk, ‘accidentally’ making two lunches, offering to walk you home. At first it made her feel like a love-sick teenager, but seeing that sweeter-than-honey smile on your face when you agreed made it all worth it.

You would always try to lighten Graysons loads of endless paperwork, even though most times she refused. You learned very quickly to show, not tell Grayson when you were going to help her.

This would lead to many nights of you sitting across from each other under the dim light of her office. She would occasionally catch you staring at her (I mean how could you not, with the light reflecting on her features like that), and would make a teasing comment about you being distracting.

Grayson knows how much you do for her, and makes sure you’re properly appreciated for it. She never hesitates to say how thankful she is for you.

She always makes sure you’re taken care of. No matter how busy she gets with reports and the council, she will always leave a cup of tea/coffee on your desk and ask you about your day.

Occasionally she will ask you to dance on your breaks in her office. It doesn’t matter if you can’t dance to save your life, her warm hands always guide you with such ease as you come to sway to whatever music she has playing. Her head gently resting against yours as she whispers sweet nothings to you would be enough to relax you from whatever work you had.

Her office, which was practically bare before you started dating, is now filled with trinkets and other Knick-Knacks you picked up for her. Her couch is even adorned with a comfortable blanket so you can sleep whenever she needs to work late or during the day when you need a nap.

to return the favor, whenever she visits the undercity she always picks you out something small to place on your own desk.

if you‘re working overtime and Grayson has to leave before you, she will usually coax you into going home with her. Usually her wrapping those muscular arms around you and telling you how cold the bed will be without you does the trick.
