You found children during a raid? Let me meet them. Are they scared? Injured? I can bring Eirene so they can talk.
I don't think you are a replacement for your brother, Agamemnon. I care about you, a lot, even if it doesn't seem like it.
Sorry for snooping around.
@polvtropos
Stay OUT of my shit, Odysseus.
sigh
The kids are fine, they have their own tent right next to mine. I given them tunics that don't fit me anymore and I provided them with cots, covers, furs—whatever they need. As for injuries, they're fine. At least, I couldn't see anything on them. And no need to bring Eirene, everything is okay.
Okay, so I'm not Menelaus' replacement. What else about what I wrote?
I am glad that they are okay.
I knew that you loved me. I figured it out not long after our first time together, it was not that hard.
I care about you. A lot.
I care about you, too. I know I made it obvious. Didn't I tell you?
That you love me? You never told me.
Mmn.. I thought I did.
Not with your words, at least.
I definitely have with my body.
Yes, that you did.

A...Achilles threatened Eirene. I don't know if he was going to hurt her or— or rape her, but I changed his mind over it, and I'm scared now because he never keeps his word when he says something will be okay... I.. I slept with him again, and I didn't open up about what happened between me and Aga for us to stop talking, and that's when he threatened her until I told him what happene. I know I usually wouldn't come to you but considering it's over Eirene, I wanted to...
I'm sorry, I'm putting her in danger...
@kingofsparta
What did he do. Where is he. I'm going to fucking kill him.
It's not your fault, Menelaus. Don't... Don't blame yourself. Please.
I... I don't know, he was with Agy last...
And don't say it isn't my fault, it is...
Eirene is safe with me.
You had no other choice, it's okay. He's the one who threatened.
Can I come see her later...?
Yes, of course, you can come whenever.

"Laertides!"
Agamemnon's booming voice called outside Odysseus' tent, not yet slurred with alcohol.
"Allow me to come in, speak a bit! I brought wine to drink with you."
He offered the Ithacan king, ready to walk away if he didn't receive an answer.
@lordofmen-atreides
Odysseus smiled at his friends' voice, then put down his quill and papers and walked towards the tent flap to open it for him.
"Wine? That's a great offer. Come on in"
He stepped to the side to let the Lord of Men enter, then closed the tent behind him.
"Excuse the mess..."
He mumbled, looking around and realizing only now what a mess his tent was.
"Do not fret, Odysseus, I'm used to a mess in tents. If you don't remember, I have Menelaus as a brother."
Agamemnon sat on Odysseus' cot, then gestured to the tactician.
"Cups?"
Odysseus nodded and opened a chest, pulling out two cups for the two of them. He brought them back to his bed and sat down right next to him, holding the cups up so the other could fill them.
"What brings you here all of a sudden?"
"Achilles is back, and I'm concerned."
Agamemnon admitted as he poured wine into the cups from his wineskin.
"I may hate both him and Menelaus, but the worry lingers. Menelaus will get himself killed either by Achilles or his own hand. Either will be bad for all of us."
Agamemnon put the wineskin aside, then took a drink from his cup.
"And, what's wrong with having a drink with my old friend, hmm?"
"What is happening?"
After the news, he was immediately worried about Menelaus. He tried to ask everyone about him just to know how he was, even if he knew the other hated him. He felt terrible.
He gripped the cup with his hand, looking up at Agamemnon's face.
”Honestly? I don’t know. I just know that nothing between Menelaus and Achilles ends well.”
Agamemnon took another drink of wine, licking his lips after. His eyes raked over Odysseus.
“You’re more of a mess than your tent.”
Odysseus took a sip of his wine, then chuckled, looking into the cup and swirling the liquid. He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. He knew that what Agamemnon had said was true. At this point he hasn't slept in days, nor come out of the tent. Only when he had to bring Eirene to Menelaus'.
"How else am I supposed to find a way to end this godsforsaken war?"
Agamemnon hummed and swirled his wine around while he ran a hand down his beard. He looked at the pinkish crimson liquid in the cup and shrugged his shoulders up.
"I'm not drunk enough to answer that."
The king shrugged again. "Why not ask your darling goddess to help?" He asked, looking over at the smaller man beside him. "I'm sure she could give you ideas. After all, she's the goddess of wisdom and war tactic." He reminded.
"She helps."
Odysseus lifted his gaze up again, then drank. Moving to sit closer to Agamemnon, he stared at one of the tapestries his wife had sent to him a couple of months prior.
"I just want to go back home."
"You're the only man I'd send home early, after Calchas' prophecy."
Agamemnon tilted his head back and finished his cup, then poured another. Taking a new drink, Agamemnon grimaced.
"I'm scared to go home, after Aulis. Who knows how my wife will welcome me, how my other two daughters will if they had heard what I did to their sister."
Agamemnon snorted. "At least you don't have that fear. You never will, only of the sea that Poseidon watches. After all, that was the most part of Calchas' prophecy."
Then he frowned. "I should've sacrificed Menelaus on Aulis, then we all would've went home early and none of this were to happen."
"You know it wouldn't have worked like that."
Odysseus finished his cup, only to place it in his lap and lean against Agamemnon's side. He couldn't help it. He could feel the warmth radiate from him, and he was tired, so tired.
"You had no other choice. We had no other choice, Agamemnon."
Agamemnon grumbled a few noises.
"Killing Menelaus would've been easier on me than my own daughter, my sweet Iphigenia."
Hesitantly, Agamemnon wrapped his arm around Odysseus' back, hand on his waist. He made sure Odysseus had a wing of warmth on his back the best he could.
"I know I didn't have another choice, Odysseus. I'm just saying, we wouldn't need to deal with Menelaus' lying rump."
He took another swig, then leaned his head on Odysseus'.
"He hurt you, too. Not physically, but with words and his own actions. He's selfish, and I can't defend him like I used to."
Odysseus slowly exhaled. As soon as the other wrapped his arm around him, he let the tension go away and relaxed against him.
"I know he hurt me, but I hurt him too. And you know i've loved him for a long time. Did you remeber how I was when he died? Honestly, I don't think I would've fought the war without him."
"You hurt him for good reason. Karma, I'd call it."
Agamemnon kissed Odysseus' hair, moving his hand down the best he could to Odysseus' thigh, then traced circles into his the fabric of the chiton with his middle and ring fingers.
"I think, though, with enough determination, you would be able to fight. After all, Atreus had two sons." He suggested at something, and Odysseus could guess what it was.
Odysseus straightened up at the touch, then looked up at Agamemnon again, raising his eyebrow at the question. He smirked, guessing what he was suggesting.
"So you really do like me, huh"
Agamemnon quietly growled, the sound a soft vibration against Odysseus' head.
"Finally, you don't overlook it."
"I needed a confirmation. I suspected it since Aulis, really."
Odysseus chuckled. His hand moved, resting on Agamemnon's arm before slowly moving upwards, almost caressing the skin, stopping when it reached his shoulde. The tactician then rested his hand on the back of the other's neck, gently squeezing the flesh there.
Agamemnon drank the rest of his cup, but didn't swallow. Instead he pressed his lips to the tactician's and forced Odysseus' lips apart as he parted his own, allowing the wine to tunnel between him and Odysseus' mouths both.
Odysseus opened his mouth, letting the wine flow down his throat. He swallowed and pulled away, wiping his chin with the back of his hand as a drop of wine ran down his skin. He smirked again, quickly moving to straddle Agamemnon's thighs. His free hand rested on the older's chest.
"Laertides!"
Agamemnon's booming voice called outside Odysseus' tent, not yet slurred with alcohol.

Agamemnon's booming voice called outside Odysseus' tent, not yet slurred with alcohol.
"Allow me to come in, speak a bit! I brought wine to drink with you."
He offered the Ithacan king, ready to walk away if he didn't receive an answer.

"Laertides!"
Agamemnon's booming voice called outside Odysseus' tent, not yet slurred with alcohol.
