I've never thought I would ever write such a thing down, but today a cat hurt my feelings. In my parents garden there are several stray cats, and one of them who has been here for more than two years had kittens about two months ago. I have met those kittens, I played with them, I petted them, and I have known their mother for more than two years.

Now my parents are on holiday, so I'm the one taking care of the house and the cats while they are away. Yesterday it was all fine, the mother and the kittens were on the terrace going with their day as usual, and this morning when I woke up, they were all gone. Without a trace. I tried to call them, I even opened the gate because it's loud and means that someone is home, but nothing. And then in the afternoon the mummy cat came - alone. I fed her and then she went across the street and disappeared in a bush. It's on private property, so I couldn't follow her, but it made me figure out that she must have realised my parents were not home, so she took the kittens away. Into a bush across the street.

On one hand I get it, she doesn't know me as much as my parents and she doesn't trust me, but thinking that a bush across the street is safer than staying on our covered terrace with me in the house, that hurts a little bit. And I feel really bad to write this, but honestly, fuck you.

Update: My parents are back home, and this evening we went across the road with my dad to check if there were any traces of the kittens and we found them. All three are alive, but we only managed to catch one of them and then we spent I don't even know how much time trying to catch the others or convince them to cross the road. We didn't succeed, but at least we know they are alive.
