Happy BBAU Pride Month! Alex stopped by to see Joe during this very special month. 🦖💨

Things have been really difficult financially at home, and unfortunately there’s a real chance that my boyfriend and I could lose our housing. Because of that, we’re going to focus completely on working and doing everything we can to support our home.

I may disappear for some time, reply less, or stop being active online for a while. It’s nothing personal against anyone, I just need to get my life back in order right now.

It feels like I forgot how to enjoy art.

Everything turned into it has to be perfect, it has to look professional, it has to be pretty, it has to be semi realistic, it has to impress people.

And I feel like I can't escape the standard I created for myself anymore.

Sometimes I look at my old cartoony drawings and feel embarrassed.

I practiced nonstop because I was scared of staying bad forever.

Scared of failure.

Scared people would think my art looked stupid.

But now I realize I went to the complete opposite extreme.

My redesigns don't even look like the original characters anymore.

I don't redesign characters because I understand what makes them special.

I just exaggerate everything.

The hair, the face, the body, the clothes, the proportions, until the character becomes unrecognizable.

And then it stops being a redesign.

A redesign is supposed to update and refine a character.

Not completely replace them just to make them look more impressive.

I miss drawing without obsessing over perfection.

Without worrying if it's good enough for people online.
