Some unfinished sketches of Hawks with realistic features I imagine he should have.

On facial features Of course my favorite: roman beak nose. Oh. My. God. I can't resist a giant nose and he absolutely should have one. But to contrast with his large nose, given that his face is more delicate, with thin lips and a cupid's bow, OF COURSE! And with all that, the complete Japanese face pack with beautiful phoenix eyes and a heart-shaped face. Even though during the horikoshi artworks it appears that he has visible eyelids, I imagine it's just the orbital portion that covers his lid, leaving him monolid with a perfect straight hunter eyes.

For his body anatomy, I can perfectly imagine being an inverted triangle. I've lost count of how many manga artworks I've seen of Hawks with those skinny shins of his. I don't imagine that the lower hip area is very large, if you know what I mean, But I believe the thighs are slightly larger due to constant jumping for flying or landing.
But abs, chest, arms, shoulders and back? I know, and you know, it's his most developed part. It can't be otherwise. His wings are enormous, and even at rest they are still being pushed by gravity. For the body to get used to this, it had to adapt... You know, that must have been sculpted by God.
His chest is a little bigger because his ribcage is wider. After all, he needs bigger lungs to endure flying for so long, that would explain his waist appearing thinner, after all, a larger chest makes other features seem smaller.
His extremely defined abs would come from the constant abdominal exercises he does while flying. If he needs to keep his body straight for better balance while flying, he's basically doing an abdominal plank. π£οΈ

But even so, he's not that tall and that large, So your muscles have a more calisthenics-based definition than by bodybuilding. That's what would explain why he's so strong he can withstand the weight of the wings and fly for hours. And finally, leaving him with that very athletic appearance.

Keep in mind that this is my interpretation, entirely based on my headcanon. I love studying anatomy and I always imagine characters with well-defined ethnic features as well. π₯° I love drawing different faces and bodies, and practicing these things with my favorite characters is a delight. ~
