Aww, I'm glad you love the comic. Rest assured, I have plans to continue to the Don't Take This RIsk webtoon in the future!

For the time being, my focus is on our upcoming project, Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces). Unknown from Don't Take This Risk will be in it as well. You'll be able to find out his true name, face, and history there, so I hope you'll look forward to when it's out.

Once the project is done, I can see about finishing the webtoon! I don't have a set date yet, so feel free to follow my tumblr here for updates.

While I'm busy working on art or directing, I've been lying low on my socials, but if my schedule allows it, I generally try to answer an ask (sorry to those still waiting for a response in my inbox!) and visit the Discord to chat with everyone about once a month.

Speaking of which, I'll be hopping onto the Discord today - June 28, 2026 - at 3:40 PM, PT. Can't wait to chat with those of you who can make it!

"'kay. Big whoop."

"if you aren't careful...they'll eat all the food while you're on your White Day trip!"

"Right...don't think that's what the two bozos are nervous about."

"Oi!"

"Who are you calling bozos?! You don't think it would be odd to be stared at throughout the whole evening?"

"And to have to watch your food all night..."

"Speaking of food, I spy with my little eye something...interesting."

[He looks at the woods. A bulky shadow sways from a distant tree branch. He heads over to take a look.]

"Aha, he's gone!"

[Ambrosia crouches down and reaches out to start stroking the kitten's head.]

"Aww, you're so cute...it took every bit of me to resist telling Sir X - Lady Bo-Peep is right! It's not just a deer and a kitten...they are absolute adorableness.

Hehe...I'm so glad Lady Serph gave me this secret extra something. Although, I didn't think he should have the full cookie so I ate most of it. It was delicious! If you have more, I would certainly be happy to partake.

Now, here's a treat for you, little kitty..."

[When Night has gone over, he sees a jar hanging from a branch with a rope. Inside the jar is a quarter of a cookie. He smiles as he reaches up for it.]

"And here, I almost thought there would be...something else hanging here. It's just a cookie."

[Popping open the jar, he withdraws the cookie and takes a bite.]

"W-Well...it could also look like someone's thinking about you and hasn't seen you in a while. Maybe like a flashback?"

"Oh, come on! How does nobody think of, like, flying kites? And eating chicken?"

"If that's what you want to do, then just take your next Valentine on that kind of date."

"I will!"

"So you'll knock the birds dead in front of her? How savage..."

"hops up to you and twitches my nose like a bunny Hi there! Let's play a little game. Invite as many friends as you wish, and we can all hold hands in a circle! We walk to the right as I sing a little tune and every time I sing the phrase "Tri la lee" everyone does a little hop. During the extended yodeling segment it's freestyle. How does that sound? A lovely way to spend time with friends like you on Valentine's day. Ready, Cutie? (and yes, that is supposed to be me in the drawing)"

Here is Rosemary's reply:

"Ooh, do you think Sir Arsenik, Sir Viktor, Sir Night, and the others would like the idea of hopping together? We can all hold hands...heehee!"

"Depends on how you phrase it. If you make it sound like a casual dance, I'm sure they wouldn't mind."

"You think so? And just so you know, I'm not inviting you."

"Excuse me? Are we not friends?"

"You probably think hopping around is silly anyway! Besides, I'm allowed to invite whoever I want, and for a White Day dance, I rather have a bunch of cute guys instead of, like...you."

"Oh, so you'll just hog all their attention for yourself? You know, it'll be so obvious what you're doing when they come over and see you're the only girl there."

"I won't be the only girl! Lady Elsie is there!"

"She's the one who's singing!"

"Ah, Lady Jasmine, it is her White Day gift. Just let her enjoy it. We can always do the dance ourselves."

"It's not really about the dance, Lady Ambrosia."

"Ugh, fine. You can come...but only near the end."

"Seriously?"

"We can bring treats!"

"If it's really tasty...then okay, you can come a little bit earlier. Just a little bit!"

[rolls her eyes]

"And now I won't be the only girl dancing there either! Thanks, Lady Elsie!"

"If we only come near the end, you may as well be the only girl dancing!"

[storms off]

Valentine's Day is on its way, which means...it's time for our annual Valentine event.

Same rules as before applies. If this is your first time hearing about it, don't worry. I'll go over the details again below.

Here’s how this Valentine tradition works:

1) Make a Valentine.

It can be a card like this, an audio piece like so, a drawing - or anything else outside the box! Just keep it PG-13 and clean. (Nothing that promotes hateful/malicious content and nothing religiously offensive either.) Here’s a full list of previous Valentines (along with the men’s accompanying replies).

2) Give your Valentine to one of the men (or women) from any of our games - i.e. Don’t Take This Risk or Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces).

The webtoons are included. You can give a Valentine to multiple characters if you so wish! (This is Girl x Boy and Boy x Girl so if you give a Valentine to a man, he’ll treat you as a woman and vice versa. Friendship Valentines can be given to all.)

3) Get a Valentine back about a month later!

In Japan, White Day is on March 14 and it's when men return gifts to women who gave them something on Valentine's Day. In accordance with that, you can expect to receive a White Day reply one month later! (For the sake of convenience, the female characters will reply at the same time if they receive anything. Basically, if you send in something for the Valentine event during the submission period, you'll receive one back around a month later!)

To avoid overwhelming your tumblr feed, I will typically spread out the White Day replies over several days so if you don't see it immediately, please be patient until I finish posting everything.

Submissions will remain open until February 15, 2026. (That means you have until the clock strikes midnight and it turns into February 16.) So if you'd like a response to your Valentine, please do turn in your submission before that time!

Yes, Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces) is still in progress. At the moment, I've been quiet on social media, tumble included, while I focus on the game.

While the writing is done, I'm still working on the art, animations, and directing the voicework. I apologize for how long it's been taking, but I (Crown Ruler, the team lead) am someone who wants to make sure even important background characters have artwork and voiced lines. I've always been aiming for a fully animated, fully voiced game with a ton of choices (on top of several romanceable bachelors, completely optional), and I haven't given up! (And yes, there is both a free version and an extended paid version.)

So rest assured, progress is being made steadily and surely. Just wait until you're able to see previews!

I did put a little sneak peek at the end of the Don't Take This Risk video I released not too long ago.

My patreon family also gets to see fun monthly previews!

I do plan to be more active on social media in the future once the project is closer to completion. In the meantime, I hope you continue to look forward to the game and enjoy the journey along the way! I certainly appreciate everyone's support and encouragement. I'm so glad you reached out to share this because I am still here...and I am so proud of you. I'm honored that Unknown and Don't Take This Risk was able to help you get through a hard time in your life. I'm always happy whenever my characters and my world can help someone feel less alone.

As I mention in the game...you are someone who matters. It's wonderful you're here and that you're now saving other peoples' lives. Everyone deserves to have someone there for them.

I'm sure it isn't always easy, but your work sounds really meaningful. Keep doing your best and if you ever feel like you need some rest? Unknown is still here for you.

I have not actually seen that show. I'm curious what it's like if you say the protagonist of that show makes you think of Unknown a little bit.
