Had fun designing the patterns and tattoos on his body, since we have no idea what is actually going on there. I also tried coloring this, but couldn't make it work this time around... Luckily everything looks great in black and white!

(The original was just a bit too hot for this place, so I cleaned this up so y'all could behold him respectfully 😉)

Sadly, I wasn't on the Dark Crystal team. Since they shot in the UK, there was a finite number (a percentage) of US to UK puppeteers that could work on it. I think it ended up being Kevin Clash, Victor Yerrid and Alice Diinean. Beautiful crew.

I let Victor borrow my Dark Crystal novelization from the 80s in return for full cast signatures in the book. Recently, I was shooting a totally unrelated project at the Creature Shop and was able to use a Skeksis arm for a scene. 😵‍💫 It sent my head a spinnin'!

Yeah, season 1 left us with a tremendous cliffhanger, eh?
