My Flufftober 2022 contribution for the prompt : A Sweet Treat.

Summary : Lucy opened the refrigerator door and took out a dish, which she put on the table. The Halloween chocolate candies she had baked were ready. She smiled, proud of the result. She had made several shapes of chocolates. Ghosts, pumpkins, bats. She tasted one and closed her eyes, happy.

Lucy opened the refrigerator door and took out a dish, which she put on the table. The Halloween chocolate candies she had baked were ready. She smiled, proud of the result. She had made several shapes of chocolates. Ghosts, pumpkins, bats. She tasted one and closed her eyes, happy. It was a success. She put them in a bag, left her house and headed for the guild.
The guild members had decided to throw a Halloween party and Lucy had volunteered to bake the candies. She was looking forward to tonight. She had even bought her witch costume a long time ago.
All the members were busy preparing the room and each had a task to accomplish. The decoration, the music, the drinks. Lucy brought the candies to Mirajane, who was in the kitchen. Looking at all the decorations, Lucy was sure this party would be magical.
The party was in full swing. Everyone was dancing, drinking, having fun and they all enjoyed Lucy’s candies. She should have been happy, yet she was sad. Natsu and Happy had not yet returned from their mission. Before leaving, Natsu had promised her to be back for Halloween and Lucy knew that he would do everything to keep his promise. He would be here soon.
Lucy had gone home. In the end, she had not had as much fun as she had hoped. Natsu had not returned and without him, she felt like Halloween night was not so fun. So rather than keeping herself to herself, she had preferred to go home.
She had removed her make-up and had put on her pajamas. She sat down on the couch with an ice cream pot in her hands. She intended to devour it while waiting for Halloween to be over.
Someone knocked on her door. She got up from the couch and went to open the door. She opened her eyes wide when she saw Natsu. He wore a big pumpkin on his head as a disguise and made a scary face.
“Trick or treat !” He said in a scary voice.
But Lucy was not terrified. A huge smile lit up her face and she threw herself into his arms. Natsu put his arms around her waist and laughed.
“I promised you I’d be back for Halloween.”
Lucy took him to the living room and Natsu took the pumpkin off his head. He put it on the coffee table and they sat down on the couch.
“Look what I brought back from the guild.”
He took a bag of Halloween chocolates out of his pocket and Lucy caught herself from laughing.
“What ?” Natsu asked, seeing her smile.
Natsu opened the bag and took out a candy.
“Let’s taste them. It’s not really Halloween if there’s no candy.”
He put the candy in his mouth and swallowed it.
“Delicious !” He exclaimed.
Lucy blushed. Seeing Natsu enjoying the candy she had baked made her happy. He took another candy and handed the bag to Lucy so she could eat one.
It was not the evening she had imagined, but it had turned out much better than she had hoped for.
