Finagrin - Armed with a trombone and a GameBoy, Finagrin delivers you a freakishly impressive set of chip and jazz. VGX - Retro-inspired house beats are his specialty - drum machines and blips aplenty! Slato - Prepare for an epic journey through time and space with his melodic and energetic dance beats.

Two chipmusic shows in a single week.. Brisbane doesn't know how lucky it is.

As it is the first Thursday of the month we have the best new up and coming chipmusic acts descend on Mana Bar. 7pm VGX: Returning to the scene to smash out an all new set of blips and bloops accompanied by drum machine beats. 8pm FINAGRIN: A truly epic fusion of trombone and gameboy - must be seen and heard to be believed. 9pm GENTLEHURST (SYD): All the way from Cronulla, Sydney, to deliver a blow of chipstep no short of wobbles and wubs. 10pm SLATO: Chilling melodic ambience and energetic dance beats reminiscent of retro VGM. 11pm RUBIJAQ: An onslaught of dark grungy waveforms and raw noise.

SCIENCE PROJECT: Brisbane Beats duo mixing dub, hiphop and electronica. Moody bass heavy tunes to nod your head whilst shaking your ass.

Maddest Kings Alive (Melb): Turns a large array of video game devices into a funky amalgam of future beats and spacey bleeps. Playing material off his new EP this set is not to be missed.

godinpants (Syd):  godinpants, written in 1851, recounts the adventures of the narrator gameboy as he sails on the whaling ship distortion under the command of Captain bass guitar.

Dot.AY: Low-End 4bit Bass destruction, wonky beats party assaulting bleeps.

WTEM: Noisy neo-tribal improv...Wtem is an onomatopoeia for wham...

VJ's: Gentlehurst (Syd), Warren Handley + Joe Baker, Leif Gifford

Micronations DJ's will be spinning tunes between sets from booty bass to 8bit ragga and everything in between.

DOOMSPLAY: An interactive installation made in Brisbane that allows participants to save the city from invaders (possibly from space)

Finally there will be a bar with cheap drinks and a Retro Gaming zone that only has consoles created before the turn of the century and TV's with busted colour tubes.

Pocket Music is back at Mana Bar bringing you the best new up and coming chiptune artists out of Brisbane! 8pm FINAGRIN: debut show for this Brisbane artist who will be bringing his energetic melodic gameboy tracks to the Mana Bar. 9pm SLATO: Dual Gameboy epicness moving between ambient chords and banging dance. 10pm RUBIJAQ: Bass heavy glitch destruction, noise to make you move. So a convention for all things tabletop, card and roleplay gaming happening in Brisbane next long weekend (April 30th-May 2nd) is being invaded by the Pocket Music crew for the ultimate nerd weekend.

So we will be playing on the Saturday night April 30 at about 9pm, if you are at the convention anyway or were thinking of going, you should come along and hear us and say hi!
