Lore: Aura in relation to Legendaries and Mythicals

As mentioned in prior posts, Aura flows through every living being.

If you're powerful enough, you can even manipulate the exact flow of Aura!

However! Not all Aura is equal. The Legendaries and Mythicals use Aura that is specialised to their needs.

E.g.: Dialga uses time-related Aura.

Said types of Aura are more difficult to manipulate, as they don't follow the typical "elemental" Aura types.

For an example of a move that more directly manipulates Aura via these special types... Trickroom.

That move warps space in such a way that slow = fast and fast = slow.

Wish Aura is extremely powerful, but also draining, which is a large reason Jirachi can only grant a few wishes every 1000 or so years.

The exact flow is regulated by the Aura Trio, as well as by the respective Legendary/Mythical.

Some of these 'mon share Aura types, such as Hoopa and Palkia, or Celebi and Dialga.

The type of Aura that Cresselia and Darkrai use are similar, but not exactly the same, as Darkrai's includes a bit more regular Dark Aura than Fairy Aura.

Concept: Whoever transformed Hero forgot about the “understand what Pokémon are saying” part of the process. Like, poor Hero will be standing there, but all they’ll hear from anyone else is “Pika Pika!” “Char! Charmander!” “Torchic Tor!”

It would be especially frustrating if everyone else understands Hero just fine. Like, Hero will point to something and ask “What’s this?” And everyone else understands that just fine, but when anyone actually tries to answer, it’s all “Cubone bone bone.” “Psy-y-y… duck?” Togetoge piiiiiiiii!”

Nonverbal communication like body language and (assuming Hero can read because fans like to go their own ways with how written things work in PMD) writing would be the way to go.

Funny, that's basically how muteness works in my AU.

The mute 'mon can only say their species and you need context clues and body language to get an understanding of what they're saying.

Strange question but bear with us...

Do you treat mythical Pokemon as deities or just like regular Pokemon?

(Some of these mythicals seem deity or demigod-like. Others might feel like just a regular Pokemon that Gamefreak made hard to get for promotional reasons, or to make their sparkly card more valuable.

We've seen a bit of both - sometimes all mythicals are treated as lesser gods, other times mythicals can wander treasure town and nobody bats an eye. How does YOUR story work?)

Well... It's complicated. Most Legendaries and Mythicals follow their duty, but don't generally have to.

They can settle down, get a mate, generally live a normal life... Or they can fully embrace their position as deity.

Zeraora and Celebi, for example, are only dealing with their stuff when absolutely needed.

The familial relationships between them are mostly sibling-like, though there is also a power difference at play. Dialga being a bit of a supervisor for Celebi, for example.

The Legendaries and Mythicals are usually treated as gods, different cultures having theirs as their "main" deity.

Then there are those that exist, but nobody really... knows about them.

Marshadow, Genesect, Magearna... Essentially, any extremely elusive and/or somewhat... non-living Legendary or Mythical.

They also have their own Realm if needed.

Cresselia has her Dream World, with Darkrai being in the lower quadrant of it, the Nightmare Void.

The Aura Trio has the Aura Realm, that place is just... extremely volatile and easily manipulated by any and all visitors, hence they are hiding in the Dream Realm.

Giratina has their Distortion World, mostly out of fear of hurting others.

The Eon Guardians do have one, they just barely use it.

Some Mystery Dungeons are somewhat akin to those Realms. Like Wishing Dungeons, which are warped by Jirachi's wish abilities.

Just checked Bulbagarden for some stuff, and, well, turns out that transferring Aura from one being to another having the possibility of being fatal is... canon?

I just used it for Skye's plot! I didn't know Aura can be fatal in the actual canon!

...At least I get away with it in both cases. ...Fan fiction and canonicity, I mean.

Rechecked it, and... Yep, can be fatal. Though Bulbagarden says it's fatal for the user... It still works!
