It's called cloud iridescence (some people call it a "fire rainbow") and it's one of the rarest things you can ever see in the sky.

Sunlight is hitting tiny ice crystals inside the cloud at the perfect angle and splitting the light into all those colors. That's it. No filter, no Al, no edit.

 "Pebbling" - a courtship ritual where Gentoo penguins pick up pebbles in their beaks and bring them to their prospective mates. Hospitalized children painted the pebbles for the penguins at the Edinburgh, Scotland, Zoo. Here they are picking their favorites.

He's got his, and is rushing off to present it to his mate. This is too cute.

Sharmistha Ray “Geometry of Play”

Unveiled in July 2026, the project transforms three downtown Pittsburgh pickleball courts into a large-scale geometric ground mural. it stands as the city's first-ever artist-designed pickleball court installation.

The installation changes dynamically depending on where a viewer stands. From an aerial perspective, the adjacent courts blend into a unified, near-square composition anchored by a central, compass-like dial shape.

On the ground, the artwork is activated by the movement of people. As players step onto the surface paddle-in-hand, their physical athletic movements become a direct extension of the abstract composition.

Ray also custom-designed four coordinating, usable pickleball paddles to complete the experience.
