There are days when Tony Stark can’t stay out of the media, times when galas follow charity events follow press conferences, when Tony Stark is trending on three different social media platforms under five different titles.
And then there are the days where Tony Stark seems to disappear off the face of the earth. When Peter, aged seven, scours every available source of news and comes away with nothing, he asks May where Tony is. She assures him he’s likely just on vacation.
When Peter turns eleven, he hears what people really say about these days of silence—that Tony is hiding away somewhere with a couple bottles of booze and more than a couple women.
Peter frowns whenever he hears this. Maybe it was on-brand for pre-Iron Man Tony Stark, but now, Peter doesn’t want to assume something when he’s not sure of the facts—though, he has yet to hear otherwise.
Years later, Peter becomes Spider-Man. He meets with Tony on a weekly basis, and the silent days go forgotten.
Until Tony texts him one Tuesday morning.
