Jack Burton & Snake Plissken ~ Big Trouble in Little China / Escape from New York

I got so frustrated with this that I cried a bit, but look at how well it turned out.

Bruised and bloodied Snake.

Lady Snake, a creation of mine and @namasteehee. 

Maureen (or the girl in the Chock Full O’ Nuts. Because, you know. It was Chock Full O’Crazies).

I mean partly because, in a genre where the hero is always THE GREAT MASCULINE™, Snake meets all the usual traits of STRONG, MUSCLE, BEARD, BALLSY ONE-LINERS, GUN! except that he is never interested in bangin’ the ladies. Without fail, there’s always some hot lady who throws herself at him during the film, but he is just so disinterested. 

But he doesn’t exactly fall into the “I have no feelings whatsoever” trope of asexual characters… which is really saying something, because he gives so few fucks about most things. But he actually cares about people he meets, about the ladies he meets. 

Like when he brushes off the sexual advances of a lady in EFLA, he does so by also giving her a gun– which is honestly a pretty considerate gesture, given how useful weapons are for survival in that setting, and how he could probably stand to hold onto that gun himself. And the ladies who die in these films, he actually mourns them. 

Hell, he saved the life of Utopia (spoiler), despite not even particularly liking her, and probably thinking that she’s an idiot (but generally a nice girl who doesn’t deserve to die).
