When you just can’t decide what to read next…
All I need in this world is a fresh cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other.
PlayneJayne
The sunshine is inviting me to come out and play.
The air is fresh and the breeze is warm.
But I’m not much interested in this world today.
For there are many lives that have yet to be lived.
There are far greater worlds to explore than that of which lies outside my window.
The worlds of paper and ink;
A sea of words splashed across pages held together by fragile spines.
Places of love, magic, tragedy, adventures, and more (much more).
I’ve danced with Mr. Darcy in grand ballrooms.
I’ve raged against the racial divide in Maycomb, Alabama.
I’ve partied in mansions with the grandiose Gatsby himself.
I’ve felt hopeless and terrified behind the bookcase in Amsterdam.
I’ve fallen in love
I’ve laughed.
I’ve cried.
I’ve traveled all over the world; visiting times long ago and those yet to come.
I’ve met people of all kinds.
I’ve walked in the shoes of others.
I’ve seen what they have seen, felt what they have felt.
I’ve lived a hundred times over.
So yes,
The sunshine is inviting me to come out and play.
The air is fresh and the breeze is warm.
But I’m not much interested in this world today.
For there are many lives that have yet to be lived.

Love, for me, is something I find in books. You’re never alone if you are surrounded by books.
Sophie Divry, The Library of Unrequited Love (via bookmania)
Little moments
The greatest love is found in small moments. The moments that sneak by without notice.
It happens when the sun kisses the horizon. When sleepy eyes peek open and they steal a glimpse of that person next you. You whisper those three words, and even though they can’t hear you… they do.
It happens in crowded rooms. When you lock eyes with that person across the room. They give you that “I love you” smile. Everyone and everything becomes nothing but white noise.
It happens on rainy days. Curled under blankets with cold feet. Quietly reading, sipping tea. You look up and catch them biting their lip as they concentrate, enveloped in the pages of words. You have never seen anything so beautiful.
It’s these little moments. They pass by, seeking no attention. So small, so innocent. Yet, they mean everything.

Locked
Your absence is paralyzing. I’m stunted in time. Frozen in what we were. What we will never again be. I’m waiting for the impossible. Empty hope trapping me here. A captive in the memories of us. Only you can set me free. Only you can thaw this ice of solitude. But you’re gone. And I’m still here.
-PlayneJayne
A guarded heart is a secret possession.
One that remains safe and tucked away.
Protected from love’s will, even when beckoned,
Deep inside and secure it will stay.
There is safety in a heart of protection.
No broken promises and no pain.
Sheltered from lies and mistrustful affection.
Shielded from love’s wounds, bruises, and stain.
But…a guarded heart comes with prices to pay.
Although it keeps the heart protected,
Boundaries can push special people away.
A lonely heart can feel neglected.
A guarded heart does not feel love’s connection.
The tenderness of a true love’s kiss.
To wander freely throughout love’s direction.
To take the leap into love’s abyss.
A lonely soul does not know true love’s heartbeat
The thrill of one’s breath taken away.
A guarded heart walks through life, never complete.
In fear of what love’s known to betray.
Love, a true love, is a risky endeavor.
Something that not everyone can find.
Love, a true love, is a promised forever.
Love means putting your heart on the line.
In a world of broken hearts, true love is rare.
Though, for those who risk it, it is found.
In spite of love’s danger, if only you dare...
Feel love’s enchantment, when you let your guard down.

Text for Tired Eyes:
I want this. I want that. I want photos of us. I want to be proud of us out loud. I want to kiss you. I want to smile and laugh. I want to make you giggle and I want to make you sigh and I want to take your breath away and I want to dance with you at people’s weddings and I want to pick you up and carry you when your feet are tired and I want to wait until you are Almost asleep and then kiss your nose and make you laugh so hard with some secret joke that your belly hurts and you smack me for waking you all the way up so we have to get out of bed and sit and watch the city lights while eating a bowl of cereal at 1:38 am. I want to smell you fresh from a shower and paint your toenails and take you to baseball games and teach you hidden things that are going on that most people don’t know. I want us. I want the smell of pancakes when it’s me that cooks them and the sun hasn’t yet woken. I want the smell of dinner when it’s us that burned it because we fell to the floor and made love instead. I want the handprints on car windows, steamed up from the inside. I want long baths followed by short showers and the scent of your shampoo staining my hands for the entire day to follow. I want ears that hear the words I spill instead of eyes that read them. I want notebooks black with ink from all the details I noticed from all the times I sat and marveled at the way you spin through an hour.
