I’m just gonna believe that for the debut of the giant owl exhibit, the Royal Conservatory commissioned a novelist to write a series of short stories about the heroic adventures of owl-riding sea pirates. The stories got so popular that some idiot noble tried to import a giant owl as a pet, but it went horribly awry and the owl escaped and terrorized half the city before the grand guard caught it. I also like to think this was the event that inspired that disgruntled owl oil painting.
