if you’re willing, talk to me about the perfect angst storm for OA Zidan from CBS’s FBI? Like if we’re vibing the writers for more angst what are the vibes?
oh man i’m here for all the angst, idk what that says about me - i love oa so much, but i want to see him suffer. him getting shot & dealing with guilt over his army friend was a nice taste and now i want m o r e, i’ve got so many ideas i’m not picky:
(this is probably more than you bargained for but it’s too late now, i’m on a roll)
so i know we’ve already got some glimpses of his time in the army but i want more. like show me more of his teammates/subordinates and how he never stopped feeling responsible for them when they got back home, how he makes sure to be extra vigilant now that he let one slip. and now i’ve remembered that, what, at least 4-5 of his teammates have died in front of his eyes and he’s the only one that came out of that house alive, which means there has to be a lot of emotional baggage there already. show me. all. of. it.
this kinda leads me to another (hopefully lighter) point - tell me about oa’s life before the war, show me his childhood friends and where he grew up and - here’s an idea - have oa’s nosy sisters drag maggie to a family dinner and give me merciless sibling rivalries and embarrassing childhood memories. i could be wrong but i’ve got a feeling that the snarkiness is a family trait.
and also i want to know more about his time undercover that they keep teasing, like there must be some heavy stuff there. maybe there’s a serious danger looming over the city and an informant’s tip leads the fbi to someone he’d met while undercover, someone he’d grown to care about, someone who trusts him, someone who at the end of the day ends up seriously hurt or even dead, despite his best efforts and despite the thankfully averted catastrophe. just keep adding guilt onto the pile that’s weighing him down until he can’t breathe anymore. then let his team help him build himself up again.
is that too much? i don’t care i’m here for all. of. it.
also i’ve been watching for the people on abc and i have this vision of oa finding himself in the federal courthouse (which is located literally right across the street from their office) - he’s taking the witness stand as the arresting officer during a trial or whatever - right as a dramatic hostage situation develops and so he’s cut off from everyone (mainly his very worried team) outside and has to work from the inside to keep as many people as he can alive and possibly even trading himself for civilians!! maybe he’s forced to leave a man (that can’t be saved) behind in order to help others who need him, even when it goes against everything inside him. maybe he saves most people but not everyone, and it hits him hard and even brings up memories from his time overseas - there’s so much potential for drama. basically, i want to see my son get the respect that he deserves (+ everyone fussing over him when he prioritizes literally everything over taking care of himself)
i’ll also accept any form of the good ol’ worrying over everyone and trying to get civilians to safety, not realizing he was hurt until he collapses in front of everyone trope
okay i’ll stop now, before this reaches novel length. idk what it is about oa, i just find him so interesting and whatever crumbs they give us i’m always left wanting to know more.
