If you were ever to ask Dakota what he dreaded most, he would be ready with a reply in an instant. There was a very little amount of things he detested— and those things were things you would expect, like spiders, or the dark. But more than those was one thing that he absolutely loathed— awkward situations.

However, it seemed that because of his shy demeanor, it seemed that these sorts of things tended to follow him around. Especially now, as it seemed— whoops! Bam, literal run-in with a girl. Incredible.

He wasn’t exactly sure if it had been his fault or hers for not paying attention, but it didn’t really matter, huh. Considering it just happened and now her stuff was just scattered all over the ground. He couldn’t just stand there like an idiot now.

"N-No, not at all! It’s alright, it was probably partially my fault, too…!"

Kneeling down, he began to help her recover her lost items. Because of his late start, she already had most of it done, but he figured it was a nice gesture anyway, right…??

Great. Just perfect. She scowled, making sure her face was down so that he wouldn't see. As if it wasn't bad enough that her time was being wasted, but it was being wasted by some sort of nervous wreck. She thinks that she recognizes him as someone from her class, and if anything that makes the situation worse for the both of them. Now they're going to have to see each other, every day, the weight of their one uncomfortable encounter weighing over their head like some sort of social anvil.

"Don't be stupid," she said, her voice level as she specifically continued to not make eye contact with him. "It was all my fault, for not paying attention. I apologize for the inconvenience..." Her voice was only partially bitter, a real accomplishment on her part. It wasn't as if she cared for this classmate, or cared about his feelings, but she understood that she needed to maintain a certain level of social grace.

At this point he had bent down as well, helping to gather her belongings. Normally this wouldn't have made Hitomi want to roll her eyes, but she found herself desiring to do just that. This entire situation has put her into a most extremely annoyed mood. What good did he even think he was doing, now that she was mostly finished...?

Hitomi was leaving her last class in what could be considered a rush, balancing her books and papers in her arms. She was hurrying to get to her room and finish her homework quickly, so that she could work on a few simple ID orders she had received.

She stared at the ground as she walked, not wanting to make eye contact with any of her classmates in case they stop her and waste her time. The downside to walking like this, unfortunately, was that she could do something like bump into another student. The downside to her life, unfortunately, was that of course something like that would happen to her. She slammed into someone else with surprising force.

She bit down on her lip to keep from making any sort of embarrassing noise, like a squeak or something equally as horrifying. Thankfully she didn't fall down, but her books scattered and her papers fell with a flourish. "I'm sorry..." she muttered, bending down to collect her notes.
