a funny thing about having a Problematic Blorbo is that you'll periodically come across a post along the lines of "um let's not forget that [Blorbo] is a bad person..." listing their various crimes, and if you have a modicum of intellectual honesty you find yourself nodding along and saying yeah it's true... but it's the greyness of their character that makes them so compelling... At the same time though you have a little Saul Goodman in your ear going "your honor in their defense: who cares like omfgggg who caresssssss like come onnnnnn"

Literally!! Like I mean there’s def some guys who I can’t defend for the life of me but most of the time when I have a problematic blorbo it’s cause people make a 2D caricature of who they are. Often times not being evil but being misunderstood. I love silly misunderstood blorbos!!!

Yeah honestly that appears to be how it is in this space. It’s really dumb, like just live and let live. Personally I am neutral on most ships, most of the reason I may find joy in shipping is because my friends like that ship. Recently (as in about a month ago) somebody confused my criticism of Saintpierre (as a way to point out somebody else’s hypocrisy in their meaning of “problematic”) as me hating it. If you don’t like something, that’s entirely okay! The only problem that comes from not liking something is when you go out of your way to target the people who do like said thing. Just saying you don’t like something is not that, it’s not a personal attack on anybody, it’s just your truth. Don’t feel too bad, you’re not bad for having preferences.
