PJO/HOO BIG BANG 2018

Hello everyone! I’m happy to announce that the big bang is happening this year! We’re relocating to a new blog though so please go follow @pjo-hoo-bigbang . There you can go ahead and fill out the google form posted to give us some feedback on any past experiences in the big bang and weather or not you’re planning on participating this year. If you have any questions please send your asks there as they will no longer be answered here. 

Of course, 40 responses barely covers the number of people that may participate in this event, so there is the possibility that some of you may not approve of these changes. 

Although I know this is always a possibility, I want to give as many of you as possible the opportunity to submit your opinion.

You'll now have until March 18th to complete the survey, after which point, you will no longer be able to submit suggestions.

The survey takes no longer than a minute to complete – we’re aiming for as many responses as possible, so we’d greatly appreciate it if you took the time to submit your thoughts.

Unfortunately, we have an efficient amount of volunteers right now. But, if we’re ever in need of volunteers again, you can definitely volunteer and participate!

For example, I’ll be participating as a beta reader as well as volunteering.

Hey! There are plenty of ways you can help without volunteering. You can fill out this survey, for one. Or you can simply spread the word.

Don’t be too caught up in actually participating or volunteering – the fandom itself is as much an important aspect of the Big Bang as the creators themselves. Without PJO fans to read the fanfiction or appreciate the artwork, the Big Bang has little purpose.

If you’re worried about time consumption, applying to be a green admin will take hardly any of your time! And by filtering out the asks that have already been answered, the other admins and I can answer the really important asks!

Don’t sweat though buddy, if you can’t volunteer or participate! Those things aren’t everything ✨

In preparation for the return of the PJO/HOO Big Bang, we’re searching for volunteers to assist in the making of promotional imagery, the organising of submissions, and the overall running of the PJO/HOO Big Bang

If you’re available and interested in volunteering, here’s what we’re looking for...

Volunteers to organise and document big bang entries, update the blog, and answer asks.

One or two volunteers to create promotional imagery for the 2018 Big Bang (i.e. headers for promotional posts, a new blog icon, and a new blog header)

General volunteers will be categorised into three groups depending on the amount of work/time required. You can see these categories below:

GREEN – Answer asks if the question has recently been answered or if the answer is already in the FAQ.

AMBER – In addition to the tasks listed in the green category, amber admins regularly update the blog with any rule and/or schedule changes, and remind participants of deadlines.

RED – Red admins are only responsible for the organising and documenting of Big Bang entries.

Hey love! I’m looking into it... it kinda depends if we can find volunteers and if we can make the big bang work more efficiently.

I’ve got a couple of ideas rolling around, but right now I’m more focused on finding volunteer admins (to answer asks and keep the blog updated), and one or two volunteers to make post/blog headers and a new blog icon.

Not only will this make the running of the big bang more efficient, and less of a strain on Mari and I – although mostly Mari, bless her – I thought it would be a great way to include more of the community.

I’m going to create a post soon, but for now if y’all could reblog and spread the word that we’re looking for volunteers, that would be super helpful!!
