Apartments, Dispatch, and Radio Silence
Here’s my crackhead post on the matter so I can get it out of my brain and get the help I need.
DICLAIMER: this is a Jikook post. This is a DELULU Jikook post. Beware if you’re not into that sort of thing.
I feel like I’ve lost my mind. The conspiracy theorist in me has never been a particularly strong presence, but when it comes to this I’m not sure where the lunacy got me.
I think Jikook live together, and I think Dispatch has something that definitely shows that, and that’s why we’re all quiet on the Jikook front and why Dispatch gets such high access to BTS.
Is this a patently crazy thing to think? Yes, I know it is, don’t @ me. But I’m going to explain it anyway.
For Jungkook’s birthday in 2018 Jimin got him a beautiful bag and posted a bunch of meme pictures of him.
Jungkook swore retaliation, saying he would do something “(Jimin) couldn’t even imagine”
Jimin’s birthday comes and goes with a very nice and not at all derpy selfie of the two. No word on what JK got JM, if anything.
Later the bomb would come out showing JK giving JM the bouquet from his dad but no sign of presents and JM didn’t mention anything in his live.
Jikook b wildin on tour this whole time. Award season starts, omg they’re glued to each other WHAT GOES ONNNN
Jikookers are so fed we’re all in the obese bracket.
New year: Dispatch leak announces they know about several couples. Including an LGBT couple. Rumors swirl about wtf they mean by all this
Dispatch outs Jennie and Kai (ymmv on whether you think they were legit) and we kind of chill off a little. There was that list right? That seemed so crazy and had Jimin and V with gg members? This is probably all nuts and we should stop being crazy.
Jikook are suddenly much quieter, less touchy, even Jikookers are getting worried, “Are they fighting? Are they not together anymore??”
News breaks about Jungkook’s apartment purchase
BigHit makes a statement about it extremely quickly. This is a bit strange because they haven’t made a statement about any of the other apartment purchases that have been announced up until now: Seokjin, Yoongi, J-Hope.
We’re mostly just stoked because Jungkook now lives in the same apartment complex as Hobi.
The more obsessed among us take note that the purchase date of the apartment was in October. Haha, we think, wouldn’t it be funny if that was JK’s present to JM? So silly.
Then our resident Slytherin conspiracy theorist enabler does this:
Its January, Jimin. Why are you tweeting your birthday all cheeky as Jimin O’Clock on the same day the apartment is discovered and BigHit makes the statement?
There’s nothing overt about it, and yes it is a reach. Fully admitting it. Send me to the mental hospital.
But this is JM’s style, isn’t it? The subtle. The easily discounted. The paw prints, the ordering of tags, the cat and the moon and the million and one other Twitter clues he leaves us. In the context of knowing how JM is; how careful and specific he is, I can’t just let it go.
But if they live together things take on a different meaning. The airport saga starts to get interesting. The phenomenon of Jimin and JK sharing a car to the airport is nothing new.
We’ve all seen it. But the third member in the car with them is usually Hobi. Well we know now that JK and Hobi have apartments in the same building, it would make sense to pick them up together so they don’t have to traipse back to the dorm every time they want to leave.
And sure, they say they still live in the dorm. But in the packing for bv3 we got a look in there and they literally want us to believe JK lives in this closet:
There’s a bare mattress and a trash can in one of the shots. When they released the floor plan we were like, oh okay JK and Tae share the living room got it. But go back and watch that video. Jungkook is in Jimin and Hobi’s closet.
He’s a millionaire and y’all trying to say he’s sleeping on a mattress on the ground in their closet? 🙄 Sure, Jan.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed on a pan around the room that it’s remarkably devoid of Hobi’s personal items for being a room he lives in. Not much concrete evidence, just something I’m mentioning.
So Hobi and JK riding together makes sense if they live in the same building, but what about JM? What is he doing in that car?
Well if you’ve made it this far in my crazy post you know what I’m going to say. I’m going to contend that it’s because he stays in that apartment frequently enough to make riding with them a no-brainer. JK and JM have been seen out and about in Seoul many times together, going to dinner or shopping or ice skating (😍😍) and occasionally kfans will say they go home “not the direction they expected” but once again not really anything to take from that without proof.
So here we are. It’s March, and Jikook is still so quiet. I contend this is not because something is wrong with them, but because they’ve decided to/been told they need to calm down. I believe Dispatch has some kind of irrefutable evidence that they live together—maybe pics of them coming and going from the apartment—and that’s why we have so many exclusive photoshoots with DP and exclusive interviews and content.
I doubt DP has concrete “dating” evidence (like kissing or something nuts like that) otherwise it’s likely the story would’ve already broken.
I tried to entertain the idea that maybe Jikook has grown apart and they’re not as close as before. But honestly? I don’t see it. I still get that tension, those over-the-top reactions from the other members, and the unconscious gravity they seem to have for each other.
For the time being, though, they seem to be withdrawing a little from being quite as in your face. And that’s totally fine, that’s their choice and we were beyond privileged to get to see as much of them as we have. I wish them nothing but the best in this difficult life they’re living.
Also tomorrow Jimin and Nayeon could say they’re dating, or Jungkook and a bucket hat will be seen shopping in Seoul and Jimin will have bought an apartment on the moon and they’ll start stabbing each other during concerts and I will be BooBoo the Fool. Feel free to laugh at me.
