A very happy birthday to founder, lyricist, singer, and guitarist of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett.

You left behind a wonderful legacy and I hope that you’re having a great party in that Great Gig in the Sky. I’m sure Rick Wright has some fun party activities planned for you with Gerald the Mouse, Mademoiselle Nobs, and all of the rock stars that are no longer with us today.

Even in death you continue to shine, you crazy diamond. Always and forever.

Your memory will live on forever through your fantastical lyrics, music, and other art pieces.

We love you, Syd. And we miss you a lot. Rest In Peace, you beautiful and creative soul. 💎

So given that it's the 50th anniversary of The Madcap Laughs, I thought it'd be nice to go up to where Syd used to live in Earl's Court, I've not seen it for myself before and it was a surprisingly emotional moment. I took a few pictures based on those images of Syd and Iggy outside the flat as well - strangely haunting to think he stood there once and lived only a few feet above where I was, and where the photos for the album were taken.

I'd also been trying to find a vinyl copy of the album in decent condition for a while, no luck in my local record store... until I went in a shop I've never been in before, and sitting there was a mint, unopened copy of a 2014 repress at an extremely good price!!

And to top it all off, Pink Floyd night on Sky Arts which I'm watching with my family 😌
