‎Gánt, Halimba, Iszkaszentgyörgy - these are the settlements I remember from my geography class at school when it came to listing the Hungarian bauxite mining sites. It is a pity that almost every school organized study trips to Sopron, Kőszeg or Veszprém instead of travelling to Gánt, for example, where we would have enjoyed such an exciting landscape as in the picture above - the perfect place to imagine ourselves in the world of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand. Although this might have been less romantic scene in the early 1970s than today.‎
