I feel like whoever wrote these questions was speaking from experience
I desperately have the desire to draw but the heat makes it hard to have motivation. This is a 30 minute sketch to wind down the night after getting frustrated with a different composition I scrapped (completely unrelated to this drawing). If there's something I can count on it's Pidge being the source of a stress free drawing.

in the jv universe, the population is PARTICULARLY dumb, comically so, and that has to be taken into account to grasp HOW DIFFICULT it would be for the few "intellectuals" in the population to find a partner that isn't just this:
now of course, devi isn't just smart! she is also extremely creative (which is ALSO in short supply), doesn't suffer jerks (those are in mass), and above all else, is part of an even more niche subculture of goth/alternative/and the like
so lets say, finding someone to have an actual conversation with is hard, like, 1/1,000 people. but it'd be nice if they were alt too, right? 1/10,000. now factor in that you don't want them to be TOO condescending, just sarcastic enough to be witty, maybe 1/100,000? but a fellow creative?? 1/1,000,000!!!!
it may sound like an exaggeration, BUT KEEP IN MIND THE AVERAGE JV CHARACTER... we're talking "I WANT MY SLAW" - "YOU HAVE YOUR SLAW!", it is an ABYSMAL dating scene. devi and johnny finding one another was a miracle!
can you imagine how she reacted when her average customer is (^ i'm looking for a book, i think it was bluuuue) and then johnny comes up to the counter in all black, custom made metal boots, talking the way he does? like a walking thesaurus?
and johnny, finding someone to speak to that listens to him genuinely, and matches his stride in conversation one-for-one? someone that never upset him ONCE in 3 MONTHS!?!?! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!!
they fit together so well it makes me ill. if not for the horrible, horrible circumstances, they would be perfectly content together, stargazing, painting, and dissecting books and movies, surviving humanity in each other's company </3

Intelligent alien species based on bugs but specifically those moths that don’t have mouths and only live for a week after they pupate. This species’ whole conscious life is actually in the larval phase; larvae are the ones considered people, larvae are the ones with conscious and complex brains who build society, and each instar of the larva is treated as a different phase of life. Larvae become emotionally and socially and cognitively mature without ever becoming sexually mature. When they pupate, they metamorphose into something different and strange and close to mindless, with no mouth and no digestive system, whose only instincts are to mate and then quickly die. Metamorphosis is treated, functionally, like a person’s death, and the imago phase is a kind of proto-afterlife of majestic flight and the continuation of the species. Birth and death inextricably intertwined. Sex is not something people do during their lives, it’s a thing that is done as an imago after you’ve passed on from your life but before you return to the soil in death. Resultant eggs are collected by family members to raise. I think this would be fun.

i cant help but notice that the chocolate chips cookies you brought to the potluck yesterday had bad vibes. so i went through your cabinets while you were sleeping and checked out the chocolate chips you used. i mean they looked innocent on the surface, they were even fair trade certified. but i just couldn't shake that itching sense that sometning was off. i infiltrated the chocolate company's headquarters by posing as IT support. and you know what I found? the guy who designed the labels got a dui in 2007. so it turns out my instincts were right and you're a terrible person.

so funny when people on twitter talk about tumblr and 1) assume we're dead, 2) out themselves as people who need to see porn on their social media feed. turns out the porn ban was literally the best possible way to filter out the braindead gooners and leave only the Real Poasters behind, in a sort of purifying reverse-rapture. also there's still porn on tumblr you just have to open up your dash in public
