tl;dr - im leaving the mogai community completely. 

for a long time now, ive been reconsidering my place in the mogai community. while i enjoyed my interactions with others and the responses i got to my work, there were other things i wanted to do that i felt unable to do while being in the mogai community. more than that, after taking a short break and spending more time in the real world, i returned to the mogai community with fresh eyes and saw a lot of things i didnt like.

the mogai community is a place in which people assume the worst of others and everything has to be either morally justified or perfect. people who make mistakes are not forgiven, and if they are, its expected that theyll have to go through some sort of “redemption”. people who dont understand things are tormented for not being more aware. people are so afraid of being struck down for an incorrect opinion that they protect themselves by constantly seeking out others who have slighted the general community in some way an pummeling them down before any fingers can be pointed in the opposite direction. 

i think a lot of people in this community have become too involved for their own good. i think a lot of people in this community could benefit from spending a week away. if youre a member of the community and youre reading this, i encourage you to spend a week away. and if youre unsure after that, maybe spend another week away. this community and this constant stream of content doesnt have to be your entire life. try something else. try a million things. then, if this is what you like most, by all means, continue. but be aware of the pitfalls this community brings.

im incredibly grateful for everything i received from this community. im incredibly grateful for all of the support and care that i received. but its time to go. thank you very, very much for everything youve given me, and i wish you all the best.
