The hosepipe ban impacting residential buildings but not businesses is so representative of the approach to climate change generally. Sure some businesses like food production need water to function and that's really important, I know this I work in that sector, but you're telling me that dad centres and the fucking AI hub science park near me are allowed to keep using water as normal when I'm collecting washing up water to water my herb garden? I can be brushing my teeth with a dry toothbrush because every little helps and be able to see a building using up my lifetimes worth of water usage in one day. Does it not make you want to scream.

#like I'm sorry I think we should have to suspend unnecessary water usage in a drought #and this does not include food production but it does include AI systems #you know what it even includes pausing any non urgent sceintific/mechanical/engineering projects that use large amounts of water #and you know what this will make my life worse this will inconvenience people and shut down some systems #and cost money #but ultimately KNOWING that there will be more droughts in future years #and knowing that we are dropping well below our reserve level due to repeated droughts #I think we should have to be uncomfortable for a bit to protect ourselves in the future #anyway #whatever #don't even care #the fact that we're expected to just carry on as normal except without a hose pipe #when we are in an absolutely dire critical situation #that WILL REPEAT ITSELF #is just... shocking #I feel like I'm the only person ever to go to school #al is talking
