Jamsday 06/04/2018: âAinât No Friend of Mineâ by @publicaccesstv
Life is tough sometimes. Listen to more music.
Cheers,

If you donât like The Beach Boys then you can just get the hell out.Â
Jamsday 10/30/2017:Â âMoney on itâ by @togetherpangea
Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Even if you donât like baseball, this yearâs World Series is some pretty entertaining shit. And if by entertaining, youâre in to staying up till 2 AM watching the most exhausting, emotional thread pulling battle, baseball has ever seen. Youâre in for a real treat.Â
Todayâs tuneage comes from together PANGEA, who hail from LA. Which, I never knew is short for Los Angeles?! Crazy I never knew that. This world is full of surprises.
Their past efforts have weighed much more heavily on the fast paced garage rock front, which is still their foundation, but as you can hear in âMoney on itâ and throughout their new album Bulls and Roosters, that sound has matured. Thereâs a hint of that sunny Los Angeles (Lol, still crazy) charm that gives me some groovy tingles.Â
Was also able to see these guys live a couple weeks ago. They did not disappoint.Â
LA.. Los Angeles... Too funny.Â
Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy âMoney on itâ by together PANGEA.Â
Cheers,
PierceÂ
Dig Your Own Tune 10/19/2017:Â âEmber in the Ashâ by @blankrange
Happy Friday eve, friends. What looks to be the last weekend in the 70â˛s here in The Core, I will be spending my days outside, frolicking in foliage and getting semi-lit on alcohol.Â
Todayâs tuneage is a band from Nashville that just released their debut album Marooned with the Treasure back in August. As society has evolved, Nashvilleâs twang has, too, and these guys are pickinâ up what Tennessee is puttinâ down.Â
"Ember in the Ashâ is this slow burnt end of lap steel and wonderful, sleepy lyrics. Itâs one of those songs, for me, that is absolutely perfectly produced. You do one thing different and it may not have the power this does. And then I found out that itâs none other than Brad Cook that has done this producing. Who, if you donât know who that is, you should probably read this article.Â
Actually, Iâm sure itâs a lovely song without Bradâs magical touch.Â
Maybe.Â
Have a great rest of your Friday eve and enjoy âEmber in the Ashâ by Blank Range.Â

Jamsday 10/16/2017:Â âHome Soonâ by Dope Lemon
Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. The Noles pulled out the W, but I still think âscreamâ every time I write that word, so weâll stop there. The air has that crispness to it, as Autumn finally draws in, and Iâm ready to fuck up some tasty beers and laugh at anything with the word âpumpkinâ in it.Â
Dope Lemon is the moniker of Angus Stone, who most will know from Angus & Julia Stone. Who most will recognize as the extremely attractive Australian brother and sister duo that made some pretty damn good music.
If the album art and Daytona Beach shirt was enough to warn you, this tuneage is pretty fucking chill. Chances are if you do đ¤ (this) a lot then youâll probably get amped for some gnarly, but donât get all aggro when thereâs only ankle busters in the swell.Â
Dirty Lickings, brah.Â
Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy âHome Soonâ by Dope Lemon.Â
Cheers,Â

Friday Iâm In Love 10/13/2017:Â âBiscuit Townâ by King Krule
Happy Friday, friends. In the Fall, I used to start these off by talking about my beloved FSU football team. Well, not anymore, because it only leads to tears and habitual screaming. So, instead, weâll talk about the different shapes of leaves!Â
When I first heard King Krule back in 2013, when 6 Feet Beneath The Moon came out, I was immediately hooked. It was strange, dark, weird. All things I never really knew I liked in music till my ears matured. The English accent barreling through this baritone-d teenager. I couldnât get enough.Â
Now, heâs back, with yet another, stop and pause my day, album. The experimental aspect of Archyâs music weighs more heavily on The OOZ, but heâs till able to construct and demonstrate while he warrants obsession.Â
Todayâs jam fits perfectly in this jazz infused poetry rock he seems to have mastered. So go ahead and sip your libation of choice to candle light and listen. I mean, it is Friday the 13th...
Spooky.Â
Have a great rest of your Friday and enjoy âBiscuit Townâ by King Krule.Â

Dig Your Own Tune 10/12/2017:Â âI See What You Meanâ by Acid Smoker
Happy Friday eve, friends. Itâs been a hot minute, and I canât stand idly by and listen to Cardi B any longer. No offense, sheâs talented, but sheâs from New Jersey.. ew.Â
The definition for sentimental can be feelings derived from âtenderness, sadness or nostalgiaâ. At first glance, this doesnât really make any sense. To me, nostalgia is something where I reminisce on joyful moments, and although sentimental, would not associate with sadness. But, as I began to dig deeper and I look back at this Summer, it couldnât ring truer. Nostalgic for all the great times, trips and abundance of friends, but sadness for the time spent away from things that are just as important.Â
So, for whoever at Webster came up with that definition. Great job.Â
I donât get sappy on here often, but todayâs jam struck a (guitar) chord and wanted to give these two Olympian dudes props for getting the Dennis Reynolds out of me.Â
I literally know nothing else about this band, except that their names are Stephen and Brian, they released an album back in May and theyâre very good at knitting.Â
Have a great rest of your Friday eve and enjoy âI See What You Meanâ by Acid Smoker.Â

Jamsday 07/31/2017:Â âBlood Under My Beltâ by The Drums
Happy Jamsday, friends. The resurrection of MftM is upon us. And just in time, because Arcade Fire made an awful album that Iâm sure people/you think is just as good as The Suburbs, or better. If youâre one of these people, you deserve a good kick in the shin and for someone to make a voodoo doll of you for at least like 3 and a half weeks.Â
The Drums have been around for a while, and I remember really digging their surf-y guitar wiggles and shiny vocals back when they dropped their self titled album in 2010. Then came 2014â˛s Encyclopedia, which was just slightly less boring than an encyclopedia.Â
Bring us to current day and the brains behind The Drums, Jonny Pierce, goes through a bad breakup and wa-lah, he gives us Abysmal Thoughts. Now this is what Iâm talking about. Punchy riffs and catchy lyrics that flow so effortlessly with each other you could literally ride a wave to it. @Johnny, sorry about what I said about Encyclopedia. At least itâs not as bad as what Arcade Fire just did.Â
Arcade Fireâs new album is so bad.Â
Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy âBlood Under My Beltâ by The Drums.Â
Cheers,Â
Pierce

Black day indeed. RIP Chris.Â
Dig Your Own Tune 05/11/2017:Â âHeartwormsâ by The Shins
Happy Friday eve, friends. If thereâs something we can all agree on nowadays, itâs that LaVar Ball is an idiot, right? If you disagree, please come prepared with strong, and I mean strong arguments for why you think differently. Chances are youâre an idiot, too, and I wish you all the best in the non-cool things you do with your life.Â
The Shins, who are more or less the brain child of James Mercer, started in New Mexico way before the state was *cool* with all the meth and stuff. So, here we are, 60 years later, and The Shins and meth are still super relevant.Â
Although, I think Port Of Morrow (2012) is a better overall record, their most recent (also titled Heartworms) is a valiant effort to further solidify themselves as rock legends.Â
Todayâs toon starts out like a Beatles love song that transpires in to melody hooks galore. And hell, maybe there was a little bit of meth dabbling for their cover art and space-y vocals.Â
Meth kicks ass. Â
Have a great rest of your Friday eve and enjoy âHeartwormsâ by The Shins.Â

Dig Your Own Tune 04/20/2017:Â âFalling for Youâ by Horse Thief
Happy Friday eve, friends. Itâs 4/20 and literally everyone is stoned. Everyone is nicer, funnier and cooler. No wonder the government banned it. What a stupid drug.Â
But seriously, if you are high, listen to this song. You might want to be sitting down first, and have a couple chocolate cupcakes handy.Â
Horse Thief are from Oklahoma City, which is the most creative name for any state capital in the United States. Their music twinges on this alternative country genre which I really like. I just really wish it wasnât called âalternative countryâ.Â
Itâs a slow burning number that reminds me of early Alberta Cross. The piano and guitar fills are something the average listener may not notice.Â
So, like I was saying, please get stoned and listen to this song. Â
Have a great rest of your Friday eve and enjoy âFalling for Youâ by Horse Thief.Â
Cheers,Â
Pierce

Jamsday 04/10/2017:Â âDo I Have to Talk You Into Itâ by Spoon
Happy Jamsday, friends. I fucking hate cold weather. So, to deal with that, I decided not to converse with my non-existent internet friends and pretend like you werenât ever going to hear from me again. Sike, bitch! Iâm back, and ready to make you somewhat uncomfortable with my daily musings and such. Like, who the fuck is Neil Gorsuch? And would you still care if his name was Brad Gorsuch?Â
Since Iâve been out of the game for a while these songs may seem a tad bit old, but trust me, while you were obsessing over Beyonceâs baby news, I was listening to good music and not caring.Â
Spoon have been around longer and accomplished more than most bands can even sniff. And it seems as if theyâre getting better with age. 2014â˛s They Want My Soul was incredibly good, but they have somehow managed to do even better with this yearâs Hot Thoughts.Â
The whole album rattles and shakes like a slow burning fire, and todayâs jam is no exception. Brittâs bravado singing is as weird and cool as ever and thereâs a matching circus vibe with the hysteria guitars.Â
Yep, everything is just about perfect.. except how tight the guy on the rightâs shirt is.
Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy âDo I Have to Talk You Into Itâ by Spoon.Â
Cheers,Â
Pierce
Lots of sax.Â
