Please, don’t put all christians in the same box, it’s lazy, and it shows your ignorance about actual christians and protestants, I know it should be just one christianity but Luther though his interpretation of the Bible was better than the one of Jesus, and many followed his mistake, true christians acknowledge Jesus as a jew, it was the jews who didn’t accept him as the promised messiah, jews didn’t acknowledge Jesus as a jew.
And this right here is why I made that statement. Because, yes, we didn’t acknowledge your zombie god as our Moshiach because he didn’t fit the criteria and Christians have spent the last two thousand years hating and killing us for that refusal.
It’s not lazy. It’s the truth of the relationship between our people and your religion–your religion started as splinter cult around a charismatic gadfly rabbi during the Roman occupation whose anti-Roman antics got him nailed up and displayed. When the cultists couldn’t convince the other Jews to worship that rabbi as the Moshiach for, y’know, failing to fulfill the criteria, a gentile convert to the cult–Paul of Tarsus–took the cult in a different direction, proselytizing to gentiles, jettisoning nearly all of the Jewish cultural heritage, and blaming the Jews for the death of the rabbi who started the whole thing, and not the Romans who killed him.
But I’m not even talking theology and history.
I’m talking about how you people treat me and mine right here and right now, in the present. And the sole reason you treat us as having any value is not because of our innate humanity, it’s because of this ancient connection to a gadfly rabbi who endangered the lives of his fellow Jews with his antics. (And don’t say that he didn’t–that “overturning the tables at the Temple” thing he did? Those were the taxes to Rome from a conquered province. Rome didn’t like it when the taxes came up short, and the only method they knew in response was to tighten the screws more.)
And now you’re lecturing me on the difference between your sects. I literally do not give a shit emotionally on the secretarian differences between Catholics and Protestants. Oh, academically, I understand them, and I know that you’ll happily excommunicate and slaughter each other over those bits of doctrine, but both of your sects will even more happily oppress and massacre Jews.
So, yeah, you’re all just Christians to me. Deal with it.
