so i have actually made a couple playlists for characters in the past (such as this cupitch playlist!) for the classic next gen i don't necessarily have too many strong associations i've always associated parker with charli xcx and kind of the hyperpop club dance music scene in general whereas peyton has always been more of a softer pop girlie i picture her with like michelle branch some one direction current charters like olivia dean and laufey would also be up her alley. pj just pop in general i know she gets down to some sabrina carpenter
kat i think is more of an alt girlie she listens to talking heads and the smiths and a bunch of old bands her parents had on casette and cd. tamora i think would jam to olivia rodrigo i want tam to have more of a sad girl vibe to her That Being Said one song that i just really associate with tamora is wacced out murals from kendricks gnx album. henry i think is more hip hop et al i've mentioned frank ocean for him before i've also recently found partyof2 i think he'd absolutely jam to that
for wyatt chris and melinda honestly. i do not think about it that much mostly because i feel like many people already have strong opinions on these characters that i don't necessarily. for chris i picture more angsty music bc he's an angsty boy. for wyatt i picture more oldies like um. build me up buttercup. et al. bc well a) bangers but b) not a genre i've assigned to anyone else. and then melinda i just say pop. which is kind of what i say when i don't know what to say you know it's generic its the easiest favorite a crowd pleaser real regular choice but honestly i just can't think of any bigger niche that melinda would really dive into i'm sure a well structured argument could convince me otherwise but in my head melinda would not really be able to put me on to anything you know? aint nothing i haven't heard before

to be perfectly honest the only two aus that i frequently think about music wise would be warren & sheridan, which is going to have more punk influences, and dency, who is rock n roll, because you can't be the devil herself and not be rock n roll
warren & sheridan as a narrative obviously is going to have a punk leaning which is acutally really funny because i think i decided this at like age 19 or 20 and then said well i should probably listen to some punk music to at least know what it's like and then i said wow this is fucking dope it's my fav genre now. for the punk band itself, while sheridan writes many of the songs, jenny is actually the lead vocalist, tho sheridan does do vocals as well. for their sound, i would say modern equivalents would be. amyl and the sniffers. stiff richards. i've been getting into cowboy hunter of late i'll throw them in there. destroy boys, a bay area bred punk bad. with more foundational texts being. i mean nirvana. the distillers. you can't not say misfits. i'll say dead kennedys. fuck it i'll make a lil playlist.
dency, just as a way to draw a more distinct line, gets a more rock and roll edge, while i would say classic rock, quite frankly, i don't love classic rock. it's good, it's fine, but it's so overdone that i think it loses a little bit of the sauce it had. for dency i would say more grunge i am once again bringing up nirvana but i'll also say smashing pumpkins and alice in chains, i'll go grittier and add mudhoney, but i do prefer her stuff to have kind of a more modern slant. i think listening to the dency soundtrack should put you onto some tracks you haven't heard you know we don't need another ACDC song they're good songs but just everyone does it. we could do queens of the stone age. fontaines dc. i bet she really likes david bowie. it doesn't have to be that underground, but it should say something. another playist for you.
