His eyes shone with that familiar glint, as he feasted upon her appearance, taking in every little detail. 

Her lips curled into a smile, without her permission, before she’d had time to collect herself. 

His smile widened as he closed the gap between them.

”Hello, sweetheart.”

”Klaus.”

Where had all her anger, hatred and resentment gone?

It was now, as he stood before her, that she realized how dull life had been without him. That despite it all, she really had missed him.

”May I have this dance?”

She reached out her hand towards him, giving him her acquiescence, as he pulled her closer to his body. They started to dance, slowly swinging their bodies towards each other as they moved on the dance floor. 

”Is this also our thing?” He teased her, as he swung her around.

”We don’t have a thing.”

She rolled her eyes as she said it, to take out the sting in her words. 

Klaus didn’t seem offended, he only grinned back, enjoying the banter between them. 

”You look ravishing tonight.”

”Thank you.” 

This is definitely one of the best Klaroline fics out there.
