I am Kamia J. Funchess, a freelance photographer hailing from Harlem, New York, with over two decades of experience behind the lens. Throughout my career, I've had the honor of working with a diverse range of clients, including local and international recording artists, political figures, various charities, and numerous events and music sites along the east coast. Notable collaborations include ConsciousNYC, Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen, A-Marketing, RAW Artists, and my recent role as a teaching artist for the Josephine Herrick Project. As the founder of PHOCUS KAM PHOTOGRAPHY, my studio serves as a hub for multi-faceted photo and film production, encompassing all facets of the arts on a national and international scale. My work has graced the pages of The Harlem News Group newspaper, covering esteemed events such as author M.C. Beamon’s book release party. Additionally, I've been featured as an artist in RAW Artists, an independent arts organization spotlighting creatives across various disciplines. Currently, I am embarking on a new chapter as a Personal Brand Photographer, catering to individuals seeking to authentically showcase their essence through imagery.
