Reading some philosophy by firelight. Quite a lovely way to spend an evening!
Tonight I’m reading Karl Sigmund’s Exact Thinking in Demented Times: The Vienna Circle and the Epic Quest for the Foundations of Science and the first book of Ada Palmer’s sci-fi trilogy, Too Like the Lightning. Both are wonderful companions for a quiet evening <3
Starting a new scarf today!

Some beautiful hand-dyed yarns from KnitCircus just rolled up on top of my bookshelf. They look quite at home up there! ❤️
Such creative names too! These are called Mischief Managed, Horse of a Different Color, and The Thing with Feathers :)

Today I put together a timeline of some prominent women philosophers from 1600-1850. I can’t wait to dive into these texts!
Started the yellow section of my blanket project today in honor of the beginning of April!
This project is my twist on a traditional “temperature blanket.” A temperature blanket is basically a blanket where you make one row or section a day in a color which corresponds to the temperature outside that day. I’ve decided to see how much time I can set aside each month by knitting a log cabin blanket with a different color each month (so January was purple, February was blue, March was green, and now April is yellow). It’s not a traditional temperature blanket, but I really like the way it’s shaping up!
Spent this morning reading the opening pages of Mary Astell’s A Serious Proposal to the Ladies (1694).

Image text:
“How can you be content to be in the world like tulips in a garden, to make a fine show and be good for nothing?”
“Your mirror will not do you half as much service as a serious reflection on your own minds; which will discover irregularities more worthy of your correction.”
Mary Astell, A Serious Proposal to the Ladies
