There is no good reason to let people live on the street. It’s undignified. They should be relocated to a place that is at least as nice as some of the BC corrections facilities I’ve stayed at. Where every room has a TV with cable, and a bathroom, running water and electricity. It’s criminal that homelessness isn’t criminalized in some way. Some cities it is really really bad, but I think all cities are dealing with it in some way. Why is it tolerated? Why is there so much funding set aside for homelessness but no real solutions? Just build nice correctional facilities that are more like dorms, trick them out with cable TVs in each room, have mental health workers on site, have career counselling available. Why is this problem treated like it’s rocket science? It’s shameful and I’m embarrassed to live in a country that allows it. The answers are all right in front of us. Who needs a kick in the ass to get the ball rolling?
