Hollywood, FL (PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- Recognizing that fear of the dark is usually not fear of darkness itself, but fear of possible or imagined dangers concealed by darkness, entrepreneur Thelma Petas has created “The Starshine Kids ” to help make the night time peaceful for children.

 Starshine Kids has developed a revolutionary concept to help eliminate children’s fear of the dark. The company’s products, known as “The Starshine Kids”, are plush boy and girl character dolls that come with a wireless star nightlight/flashlight. When a child is afraid of the dark or wakes up from a bad dream, they simply squeeze the dolls hand. The doll transmits a wireless signal that lights up the accompanying star nightlight/flashlight on the child’s dresser or nightstand. The star will operate up to fifteen feet away from the doll and there are no wires or cords for parents to worry about.

The life story of an world class pianist (William DeVan). A few details:

When William was a child, his mother realized his abilities and sold everything to purchase a piano. By the age of 15, DeVan was selected to perform with the Chicago Symphony under the conductorship of Arthur Fiedler (not a student performance but he was the soloist.) and was also one of only five students accepted to Juilliard the first year he applied. Holds the prestigious distinction of being one of twelve “Steinway Presenters” in the world. The only American to take first prize at the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition. Toured Portugal during the Carnation Revolution, which deposed the fascist Dictator Estado Novo. During that time, DeVan was forced to practice in the basement of the American Embassy where he could be protected.

These films invited us in and gave us a chance to feel like any of us, no matter where we started from, could be heroes and – at the same time – could connect us with our challenges and fears. These films were about the underdog overcoming despite the odds – yet the films were warm, inviting and family-friendly as well,” stated the films director, Joshua Porter.
