Shipping in general doesn’t bother me either. It’s quite harmless really, but there are a few exceptions ofc. I don’t care if people ship phan, but what’s a really big turn off for me in the phandom are the ones who act aggressive and have really strong opinions that get treated like it’s a fact.

I’m sorry that bothers you, in a way I can understand even though I’m not gay. I don’t think people need to worry about their sexuality either, especially not to the point where it’s their way or the highway. But people are naturally curious.

I have no problem with phan theories or phan blogs, I’ve been around them for a very long time and it hasn’t deterred me yet. I’m just not a big fan of this blog because the way she goes about it. She wraps her opinions around “science” and calls it a unbiased observation, but it’s still her opinion and to me she comes off very phan bias (at least from what I’ve read).

I think there’s way more then just body language to make a well rounded assessment. There’s other factors to consider that doesn’t directly correlate with reactions/expressions. To me, the way she goes about psychology is very subjective.

I think a big reason why people ship phan, from what I observed, is that it’s mysterious. It’s a lot different from other ships, because there’s a possibility of it being canon (it has it’s own proof dedicated blogs, how many other ships have that?) and that’s what keeps a lot around. Also, the phandom is a huge active community, so it can be a lot of fun to ship phan because there’s a lot like-minded people who you can talk to.

As far as the “video” goes, I honestly can see both sides being plausible. I don’t think it’s impossible for them to make a prank video and to be able to pull it off. Dan and Phil where very different back then, so it’s hard to tell what they would be willing to make or how far they would be willing to go. They wouldn’t make that kinda video now, but back then when they didn’t have as big of a fanbase and yt wasn’t their career yet, they could get away with making a prank video like that. Also, for being ytbers, using a video format for a prank doesn't seem too unrealistic, actually it’s more logical. And the fact people use that "Phil can't act" or "Phil can't lie" for it not being a prank is a bit silly. It's not like it was an Oscar worthy performance.  

For it being real, I honestly think that video reflects what their relationship was like at that time. Dan didn’t even want to do anything for valentines day (for an unknown reason?). Phil seemed so shy, embarrassed, and nervous like he was just admitting something for the first time. As it has been said before, that the video only includes things they made public, and lacks real intimate private moments or things more personal, and I think the reason being that they didn’t have any that stood out. The video to me doesn’t scream they’re in a serious, official relationship, one reason being, Phil never addressed him as his boyfriend nor did he define their relationship (“you are the best person in the world”, why not say boyfriend?). It comes off like some kind of puppy love, that most likely never took off nor became official, it just turned into a meaningful friendship. Also, Phil comes off as a very loyal, affectionate, caring, sincere, loving guy (just look at how he hugs people), so maybe making a video like that isn’t out of character for him to show his appreciation for someone who had been a big impact in his life.

I don’t think I have any other evidence that support that they’re real other then screenshots. I will say that they are real, but they’re 5 years old when Dan was 18. He has changed a lot sense then and has even denounced his FS answers couple of times ( X X X). Even just 2 and 3 years later he says he was “prone to lying”, “attention seeking”, and “immature”. This is enough for me to take what he said in his FS with a grain of salt, because he doesn’t stand by them. If he already feels like that 2 to 3 years in, then he’s definitely not going feel any different 5 years in.

As far as his sexuality goes, I can’t give you a straight answer, because I honestly don’t know ( I do have my own opinions on it, like everyone else). I don’t want to just assume what he (or Phil) is based off of some stereotype. I will respect what he says he isn’t (gay). It’s not my place to question it, really. Regarding if he is bi, I do have strong indications that he is not (most of it is found in my video). Since he labeled his old FS as “attention seeking” and him saying he was bi is apart of that, it’s really hard to discern if the whole of FS is full lies or just a percent?

To sum it up, take everything that’s really old with a grain of salt. Dan isn’t the same person.

The tweets are a bit dramatic, but I don't know if you saw the receiving end and what people where tweeting her, which weren't nice nor calm. I think invading someones privacy really irks her a lot, because when the whole debacle with the celebrities nudes leaking she tweeted this X "invading ppls privacy really gives me the horn". I don't think Dan or Phil where too bothered by it (they never mentioned it), but Bryony was. I bet she's use to them getting stopped on the street or being recognize, but since they where at an undisclosed holiday it rubbed her wrong, I suppose.

(Also, she tweeted that way after it happened. So she must have seen the drama or people where tweeting her about it, which is the most likely story) 

(And Bryony strikes again!) This is about the drama that has been happening recently with Dan and Phil's privacy while on holiday and the "alleged" stalking. I screenshot these right before she deleted them, because she was getting so much backlash for speaking out. I don't think what she said was out of line, but was important. There's boundaries you do not cross, and stalking is one of them. 

For me when I found Dan and Phil, I didn’t know about phan, the phandom, and I wasn’t into shipping. So I watched them religiously for about six months before I got involved with the tumblr phandom (which came with conspiracy theories, phan proof, etc). The first six months of watching/following them, I felt like I got to know them and their personalities first before I delved into the conspiracies, which in return has always made me very skeptical. Never once did I, prior to the phandom, ever considered the idea of them being together or even got that vibe from them. 

Phan has been apart of my daily routine for over a year, I’ve heard about almost every discussion and theories out there. I’ve just come to the conclusion that phan is just hypothetical. It’s created, dreamed up, conceptualized, by fans who saw “more” or the potential of there being more. I feel like shipping is just what teens do now, about everything has a ship name. But with phan being mysterious and having a large active fanbase, it’s enticing. Ofc having a ship with blogs dedicated to it’s “authentication” can create a false facade if your not careful and remain skeptical. If you surround yourself with liked-minded people, who buy into the proof and like to romanticize phan, it’ll start becoming real. Dan and Phil’s friendship has been consistent since they first became friends to now, while never once did they project the idea of them being in a relationship themselves. It’s always been a friendship.  

I honestly just can’t see what everyone else sees. I guess it’s just my personality or how my brain operates, but I’m a very realistic person. 

I think it’s funny how people think Phil was actually dropping subtle hints about it being about him and Dan, or that he unintentionally outed them.

I think it was just Phil being awkward and asking a weird, random, hypothetical situation on he spot (which is what he’s best). It’s over-analyzed, dramatized with the body language, eye movements, choice of words, and Dan being the “Jealous Dan”. Nothing special happened, Dan and Phil will continue being themselves and the phandom will move on. 

The thought of them being in a relationship didn’t even cross my mind. But as soon as I looked up Dan and Phil on tumblr, I saw them being shipped together and then that altered my opinion. I started seeing them how everyone else wanted to see them and I pretty much forgot that I just loved the idea of them being best friends. Either way, Phan remains my BROTP, and in my imagination, my OTP. <3

 I’ve always only saw them as best friends, but when I came across the phandom (mainly the darn proofs) I’ll admit that I had some doubts. Even though I’ve been apart of the phandom for a year and read so many theories and proofs, I just couldn’t see them as a couple.

Phan, to me, is purely hypothetical. It’s based off of there being a ‘secret’, a hidden relationship, or a possibility of there being more. You will noticed it’s just what people think there is (or how they want them to be), then what’s really there or happening. Through shippers eyes, Dan and Phil go through great lengths to keep a 5 year relationship out of the public eye. And through those 5 years, there has never been a conformation of them actually being in a relationship. 

With the 09/10 proofs, I really think Dan and Phil’s friendship was/is misunderstood. People go to what they think is the obvious answer (them being a couple) then looking at it’s complexity. I also think there’s a lack of understanding Dan and Phil as people at that time.

There are couple of moments in the video I made that would give me the impression that he is not bi (@3:13, @5:45, @12:45, @17:12, @27:01, @27:13, @28:54). It's not like if he's bi or not really matters. I can respect him in wanting to keep his sexuality private or not wanting to make a big deal out of something that's not a big deal. I also respect what he is not, if he says he is not gay, then I have no reason or place to question it (same goes for if he says he's not bi). 

The main thing is whether or not phan is real. If either of them are bi, it doesn't have to mean phan is canon.

Dan didn't start YouNow until July 10, 2012, and Phil started May 5, 2012. So there isn't any live shows that date in 2011. Both the Dan and Phil's videos I've made date between 2012, 2013, and like one clip from 2014.

For Dan's younow moment's video, it's 2012 up until 21:05, and the rest is 2013, but the hedgehog clip is the only one from 2014.

Phil's younow moment's video, it's 2012 up until 8:28, and the rest is 2013. 12:43 is the only clip from 2014. The vyou questions at the end look like they're from 2012, besides one and it looks like it's from 2011.

If there's any clips you would like to know which live show they came from or the time stamp, please ask. I have them all written down.

Oh, do I know all about how the "2012 Dan" that can't be trusted or believed! It's solely because he said a lot of anti stuff and ranted a lot. People will find an excuse as to why they don't want to believe the stuff he said in that time period. It all boils down to whether he was lying or not. Since we don't really know, people will come up with their own conclusion.
