»  ♧  «「    So, from today on, this blog will not be active anymore, as I’ll be moving my muse to a new one ! Right now, I’m working on the new blog and making sure everything is in place, so when I’m done, I’ll make another announcement post in here, as well as add the link to the new blog.

“I am sorry about that. As I said, I was panicking slightly. But you didn’t deserve that. I just… Ah… How do I put this,” Shinichi mused for a moment, “I had less than a day to put that plan together. And I had spent most of the night tending to my friends who had been caught in a burning building. I wasn’t at my best. It’s not an excuse, I know. I was in a tight bind… And in that I really messed up. So no. I will not pull that stunt again where I coerce you. I will ask next time.”

»  ♧  «「    ❛ ... Alright. That’s good, then. ❜ KID decides to reply with, before shifting his form to hop down from above. The way he lands on his feet is none other than graceful, as well as when he moves to stand upright again, casually settling his gloved hands into pockets.

      a sheepish expression forms on her face when the possible kid mentions that she had been calling out shinichi’s name when she saw him. ‘ ah, yes, my best friend – shinichi, the name i was calling you by – had disappeared on a case, and you look very much like him from a distance in the rain, so i thought you were him just hiding from me or something. ’

      ( … now she wonders how stupid she must of looked to shinichi, complaining about the fact that she saw “him” in shibuya and blaming him for not talking to her when it wasn’t really him. she may have had her suspicious earlier on, but she… hadn’t known in the visceral way that she knows now back then. ) 

      without meaning to, her expression turns a bit dour, her lips curled downwards in thought, but she shakes such thoughts from her mind, and her lips curl up into a smile. ‘ but then i saw you again later and realised you weren’t him. still, i’m sorry if i bothered you or anything. ’

»  ♧  «「    ❛ A case ? ❜ Kaito blinks yet again with an innocent look on his face, as if not knowing the complete story of what she tells him ( of course he knows, more than he lets on –– it’s like that when he’s in the presence of the detective and those involved, donning the KID regalia with a mask of everlasting smiles, and this encounter wouldn’t be an exception, even if he’s not being KID right now ). A second passes before he then puts on a face of realization, letting surprise be easily heard in his voice, ❛ Wait, – you mean, Shinichi as in ‘Kudō Shinichi’ ?? ❜ because every citizen in Tokyo should at least know of the great detective of east.

❛ I –– I didn’t even know, - ❜ Kaito admits, acting sheepish himself as he begins to scratch the back of his neck, a small smile on his lips. ❛ - I wouldn’t say it bothered me ; since it was a different name and not mine, I didn’t think much of it. ❜

      ‘ uh – ’ she’s honestly not sure what his goal is ( if this guy really is kaitō kid, wouldn’t it be better for both of them if she kept on feigning ignorance ? ), but it’s true that his appearance does seem to remind her of someone… ( she thinks it was about the same time as – ) 

      there’s a snap of her fingers as she realises just where she had seen this guy before, and realises just how weird fate can be ( she possibly saw the kaitō kid in his civilian guise before and after the black pearl heist ? wow. ). ‘ yeah, i think i’ve seen you before – in shibuya ! you were with a girl who had long hair that’s kind of messier than mine while it was raining the first time i saw you, and then the second time with that same girl when it was sunny outside ! ’

»  ♧  «「    Kaito doesn’t slip up anymore when he pretends. Even to what Mōri-san reveals to him –– about having seen him in his civilian guise before –– he feigns the appropriate reaction, letting surprise unfold on his expression as he replies. ❛ Really ? In Shibuya ? ❜ ( his reaction may be, for once, more genuine than that of a well-played pretense, but it’s not that anyone would be able to tell the difference ).

          Though... when exactly could she have seen him ?

Making a pensive face, Kaito furrows his brows a little, trying to think about the possibility of having run into Mōri-san without knowing, and in Shibuya specifically. ❛ If it’s a girl with messy hair, then I might know who you’re referring to. ❜ There had been many rains, and many clear sunny days over the year, so it could have been at any of the times Aoko and he went out for shopping, or when they went off to school...

          Or perhaps even farther back...

“I take it you get in trouble, if you’re bored?”

“A bored Kuroba Kaito, I would imagine.”

     perhaps a year ago – or even six months ago – she might have been fooled by the act, but she’s been better at spotting lies ever since she figured out the truth about conan-kun. still, it’s only an ASSUMPTION, just like how she can only assume that he’s kaitō kid ( perhaps he really is innocent ? ). with kaitō kid, however, it’s always better to assume that it’s a lie rather than not. 

      ‘ ah, no worries, but i didn’t really do anything since the rice wasn’t there anymore, ’ she responds with a sheepish smile. she’s also gotten better at lying within the past six months ( it helps when you have to feign ignorance for so long, especially to conan-kun ), but she doesn’t realise that her lie has been caught because he hadn’t had rice today ( for once, it would have been better to be less specific with her lie ). 

»  ♧  «「    ❛ Well, it’s better to be informed than not, right ? ❜ Now that the initial shock from being spotted by Mōri Ran ( someone who shouldn’t meet Kuroba Kaito if he could help it ) had subsided somewhat, he’s curious about why she had decided to lie –– does she suspect him ? And if so, what’s the reason behind the lie ?

       ‘ … you had rice stuck on your cheek, but i think it’s off now. ’ 

    that’s a lie, but it’s probably best that she didn’t let on that she recognised him ( although, ran realises that it’s probably too late for that ). 

»  ♧  «「    That’s... that’s a lie, because he hadn’t been near any rice for today, not yet at least. ❛ –– Oh ? ❜ He does a well performed act of touching his cheeks, though, as well as looking around at himself, playing clueless for now ( to save himself or her ? That’s a thing to debate ).
