Asking them to wash your hair w/ Genshin guys
hehehe cute, kaeya calls reader “m’lady”
Today's events have really pushed your body to it's limits, you think to yourself whilst attempting to raise both of your arms above your head, unable to keep them in the air for no longer than a few seconds before they flop over one side of the bathtub. You're so exhausted that, if you hadn't have just used the last of your upper body strength to control their fall, your arms probably would've snapped in half. You definitely can't muster the energy to wash your hair, you'll have to skip it. However, you skipped it yesterday too. Greasy hair isn't as bad as broken arms but it sure isn't pleasant... Seeing as you're sat facing one side of the tub, you lean forward, propping your elbows up so that your nodding head can rest on the heels of your palms. Closing your heavy eyelids and preparing your throat with a cute *ahem*, you call out your partner's name.
After waiting a few seconds for him to pause whatever he's doing, you listen out for the simple reply he always has for you in response to his name.
“...Yeahhhh?” he drawls from the other room as if to actually ask "what now?", the sound faint due to the closed bathroom door but it still reaches you. The amused smile barely managing to tug on the corners of your lips widens upon hearing his voice laced with suspense.
“I need help—” your voice wobbles nearing the end of your short statement, growing much too quiet for Diluc to catch the last word. Luckily though, the attentive redhead still arrives at the door after almost breaking out into a jog along the way. You find it rather cute how he politely asks if he can come in, respectful of your privacy. You manage to hum a noise that grants him permission and soon enough the man is already sat on the lid of the toilet seat.
“Are you alright?” your partner asks softly with a tilt of his head, slightly concerned by the way your face is smushed into your hands. The sigh that leaves your lungs urges him to somehow elegantly crouch in front of you, knees leant against the tub to keep himself steady as he bunches the sleeves of his shirt up around his forearms. You melt internally when his careful touch can be felt closing around your wrists to slowly pry them away, and even though it's wringing you of energy like a wet flannel, you keep your head up for him. Although it does unintentionally start to loll over to the side, causing your lashes to flutter along with it.
Gently pulling in your upper half before it topples over, Diluc nearly whispers a panicked “okay— alright,” and drops to his knees to make sure he won't lose his grip on your limp arms.
“Need to wash my hair...” you finally murmur as he's grasping both of your wrists with one hand to unplug the drain with the other. A grunt comes straight from his throat, causing your eyes to open out of curiosity, and you see him struggle but eventually succeed to retrieve the shower head from his place on the floor. Actually, it's pretty impressive how he can even reach that far.
“Mmph,” his broad chest is almost against your face when he bends forward to turn on the shower whilst simultaneously pointing it away from you so you aren't met with a sudden splash of hot water. You would probably giggle at his constant awareness of your presence if you could. After he's done setting everything up, he nudges your head forward with the back of his hand and presses a loving kiss to your forehead.
“I'll wash your hair, my love.” Diluc assures you lowly. “Oh, and if you bathe any longer than this the next time, it's possible you'll suddenly become a prune.”
You’ve been soaking in your bath for around an hour now, skin on the brink of shrivelling up, except for on your hands. Sighing, you peer down at the matching bandages wrapped around your palms and fingers, it is such a pain having to keep them above the water. You wish you’d been more careful today, defeating hillichurls is practically child’s play to you, but nobody ever said they’re not dangerous anymore. You overestimated your skill, and now you can’t even wash your hair, how pathetic. The beautifully detailed screen placed to block the entrance stands out as your eyes wander around the room, most likely reminding you that you’re in need of help.
“Ayato.” you almost state his name rather than call it for his attention, your voice strained and monotonous.
“Yes?” his smooth, curious tone brings on teardrops that begin to blur your vision.
“I need you to wash my hair.” you confess meekly, words wobbling due to the emotion you’re forcing down your constricting throat. Ayato clicks his tongue in mild annoyance but he still drops everything for you, sauntering over and carefully placing the screen aside.
“Can you not do it yourself?” He complains with a slight whininess as he leans in the doorway. Though, everything is silent once he clocks the way you’re staring at your apparently injured hands hanging over the tub. “When was this?” he circles a pointed finger at your treated wounds after coming to a stand in front of your bare form.
“I’m so pathetic, can’t even take a bath…” sniffling, you bring your forearm up to rid of any free tears rolling down your cheeks. But Ayato beats you to it, swiping his thumbs over each side of your face so gently, now comfortably perched on the side of the bath.
“Now, now. I can’t imagine you knew this would happen, no?” He takes one of your hands to hold it in his lap, keeping the other one on your face. You shake your head, swallowing hard. “No.” he shakes his head with you, “It was a tiny, foolish mistake. Even I can make those every once in a while, for example, I miscalculated the number of steps I had to take whilst roaming around the city this morning.”
You giggle quietly, Ayato’s face lighting up at how your shoulders shake. “So you tripped?”
He smirks from above your lowered head and removes both of his hands from you to retrieve a useful cup that you use to wet your hair normally. “Essentially, yes.” though you can’t see his smile, you know it’s there just by the sound of his voice. You’re still chuckling to yourself when he tips your head back and pours warm water over you. “Quiet, you sadistic little fiend…” he lovingly scolds you whilst smoothing all of your hair back with his palm, making sure to lightly push your forehead.
“What imbecile would prefer to use shampoo with their hands in such a condition anyway? It stings.” Ayato comments, gently combing the sweet smelling lather through your locks and you scoff playfully.
“I’ll pretend I didn’t catch that first part.”
You’re bored. You’re in the bath, and you’re bored. With the bathroom door open, you can hear every piece of your sweet cavalry captain’s paperwork being signed and sorted into the corresponding piles by the man himself. Every shift in position he takes in his desk chair, clothes rustling and whatnot. After a long second or two to think, you try summoning his presence.
“Kaeya, could you come here for a sec?” you ask softly, a sickeningly sweet tone to your voice. You’re aware of how stuck up and spoilt you just sounded, and he is too, judging by the disbelieving, breathy laugh he exhales on the way to the bathroom.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of being called upon, m'lady?” Kaeya smiles along with you, both of you faking a grin for so long that they start to become genuine.
“Will you wash my hair for me? My arms ache from so much training today.” You lie expertly, though the man has never been one to go without a doubt. But still, you can hope!
The captain takes a few steps forward to situate himself in front of you, his height rather intimidating when you’re sat below him. “And why would I believe something like that, especially from one of our strongest?” he hardly plays along with your excuse, but you can see there’s still something to work with here. You appear to be deep in thought for a moment, and Kaeya keeps quiet as you evidently struggle to find another excuse. You peer up at him with the best puppy dog eyes you can make, but he just raises his brows in response. How annoying. Fine then.
“I do, however your love isn’t something I’m actively searching for, considering all of it lies in my possession already.” He explains whilst his lower thighs lean into the side of the bathtub so that he can playfully loom over you. Sigh, you already know what he wants from you. “Come on. Oh! So your arms aren’t that bad, then?” the captain presses and catches you out after you station a hold on his wrists to pry his hands from the tub, causing you to frown childishly and swiftly cross your arms.
“Hmmmm?” Kaeya hums back at you, hands on his hips and face in front of yours. Gosh, he’s so proud. You’d love to take him down a size, dethrone him and destroy his castle of irritating righteousness. But then again… oh fine.
“Please.” you mutter begrudgingly as if you’re admitting to something. You should expect not to get off that easily though, with Kaeya being Kaeya, of course he’s bound to rub it in. Your crippling submission that is. Your eyes coincidentally find the water rippling around your touch particularly interesting, sight glued to the swirling of your finger drawing shapes along the surface. You’re expecting a cheeky “what’s that?”, but it never comes. Instead, the captain gently lays you down into the warmth and mindfully pushes any stray hairs away from your face, he also holds your head to prevent any water from rushing into your ears. That’s a first, you muse. It’s then that the man props you up a tad bit more with an expression of faux uncertainty and wonder as he proceeds to unfortunately meet your previous expectations once again.
“Sorry, I think I must’ve misheard you! Could you repeat that for me?”
“Kaeya!” You yell out of annoyance and flick water at him.
Why would you ever assume you’re going to relax and bathe alone?
“I know, right? So I was all—” Childe pauses his sentence when you look like you want to say something, hands hovering in the air around the perfect mohawk of bubbles on your head.
Not wanting to interrupt his bout of bordering on girly gossip, you gesture towards the shampoo bottle on the low shelves behind his place on the floor with a hushed “can you pass?…”, to which he also replies with a hushed “yeah, here you go.” before returning his arms and head to a propped up position on the side next to you.
“Yeah, so as I was saying; I was all like ‘yeahhh I can lend you some mora, no biggie’…”
Childe continues to tell you about his eventful day, losing himself in the conversation, and also just the fact that you’re listening to him intently, so much that he actually casually snatches the shampoo bottle back and begins to wash your hair without you saying a single word.
“And guess what?” The talkative harbinger asks of you, fully expecting a suspenseful “what?”, which you gladly give him as his fingers graze delicately over your scalp. “That lame Zhongli never even offered to pitch in, said he didn’t have any on him yet he was dressed like a stylish homosexual grandpa at a casino.”
You burst into laughter at his description, opting to add in a baffled “tight bastard!” and Childe agrees wholeheartedly with an exaggerated nod and raised brows whilst he unplugs the drain and grabs the shower head. He does get blocked by the shower curtain for a moment which you try your damn hardest not to cackle at, but you hold it in to let him carry on talking.
“Sometimes I wish you could come with me on these missions, but I know better than to let you get hurt or something like that.” he confesses, a glint of sadness in his eyes that you notice when he tilts your head up by your chin to wash off any excess product from your hair.
“Me too, but at least I’m always here when you get home. This is my favourite part of the day.” You admit adorably, causing a loving smile to grow on his face. Childe ends the conversation with a kiss on the tip of your nose before it spirals and ruins the mood.
“You’re welcome, by the way.” The harbinger sing-songs as he wraps you in a dry towel, offering to hold your hand when you step out of the tub.
“Oh yeah, thanks!” you flail your arms at him. “You should work in a salon. I can be your pretend customer for practice.” the proud grin on your lips has him melting.
“But you’re already beautiful?”
