Champion of Eorzea, blessed by the Mothercrystal. You've bested tyrannical warlords, fearsome dragons, and god-like beings. You've liberated nations, aided in their restorations. You rub shoulders with their leaders and the common folk alike. With every victory, every adventure, every grand feat, your legend grows. Everyone knows your name. Everyone knows what you've done. Everyone knows what you're capable of doing.

'It's the blessing of Hydaelyn,' they say; 'the power of the Echo,' 'the unwavering soul of Azem'. Only the Warrior of Light could do what you do, only someone destined to usher change and defend the very star from destruction. Allies and enemies alike agree; there is nobody like the Warrior of Light.

But that's where they're wrong. You may be special, or chosen, or destined... but you don't feel that at all. All you feel is the pedestal you never asked to be put on. The perceived gap between you and them is staggering. They think you untouchable; so far removed from human you must be a god, or something greater. You aren't a person to them any more. You're a symbol. An idea. A concept. Intangible.

Ask yourself, how does this piece make you feel? (No wrong answers)

Look for an artist statement nearby. What does it say about the artist and their relationship to their work? What does the artist say that they are trying to convey with their art? What contextual clues can you pick up from what they say about their background, or what they omit?

Look at the title of the piece. What is the artist saying about their work by naming it that, either explicitly or implicitly?

Look at the medium. Is there anything about the piece that stands out to you, knowing what it's made of?

Look at the year it was made. What cultural events might have been happening around this time? Was this piece part of a particular art movement? What was the purpose of that art movement, and what was it trying to say?

My handwriting is the same style as the teacher’s who I had when I was nine. I’m now twenty one and he’s been dead eight years but my i’s still curve the same way as his.

I watched the last season of a TV show recently but I started it with my friend in high school. We haven’t spoken in four years.

What a weird creature it is! I think this is one of my favorite models I've made so far. (WIPs I shared some time ago)

These guys don't have detailed story or lore (yet?), though I shared a bit about them under one of my illustrations. With this model, I tried to shape their realistic appearance, following my idea of a very thin (it's the old idea of my world that almost all its creatures are weirdly long and thin) and alien canine-like creature, which isn't actually canine.

I worked on Deltarune Chapter 5! Just a little bit :)

I was lucky enough to continue my role as music assistant to Toby Fox on the fifth chapter of Deltarune for the track "Flower Castle," which I worked on in a very similar capacity to the work I did on "Attack of the Killer Queen" from Chapter 2.

This time around, Toby sent me a full multi-track acapella demo for me to transcribe to MIDI before sending it back over to him to arrange. It was amazingly fleshed out just from the reference he sent!

I worked on transcribing this concurrently with the "Abandoned Town" and "Underwater Town" tracks for the Undertale 10th Anniversary stream, and was very surprised when they turned out to not be for Chapter 5 😅
