(A few days later, life in Night City has resumed its usual course. Alt’s passage, however, has left deep scars among the major corporations. Deprived of leadership after Hanako’s death, Arasaka slowly watches its empire begin to crumble.)

“But I’m willing to bet Alt is still in there. Somewhere.”

“You’re lighting up every scanner out there now, Silverhand.”

“I’m gonna take five minutes to clear my head… and record a few words for you. Just in case.”

(V takes a deep breath, lets out a soft sigh, then falls silent.)

V:

“Hey, Panam… I needed to talk for a bit.”

V:

“I don’t know how things are where you are. I don’t even know if any of this mess affects you or not. But here…”

(He pauses.)

“I feel like all this shit happened because of me. A selfish quest to try and fill that void.”

V:

“To save myself from that goddamn feeling of losing another brother. So I charged in headfirst.”

“A woman who doesn’t waste time. I like that.”

“Our dear mutual friend and I need your talents. For a little adventure meant to attract my girlfriend… or my ex. Hard to tell these days.”

“The problem is, she’s turned into a completely batshit AI.”

“The tracker indicates they are at the exact location where Silverhand’s body was abandoned.”

TAKEMURA:

“Should we intervene?”

“Let us observe them.”

HANAKO:

“If they possess even the slightest chance of weakening Alt Cunningham, we must allow them that opportunity.”

(Takemura bows slightly before turning to leave.)

“Takemura?”

“However, the engineers are still encountering difficulties regarding consciousness integration.”

“According to their analyses, the engram contained on that old chip is too young.”

“And she reacted strangely. Like some old fragment of consciousness was rising back to the surface.”

“Then something like: ‘I am not…’”
