Anyway I actually sent this to wonder; so we know Hazel hates that his brother is gay. But I just realized something that may be obvious: he thinks Obsidian killed Murphey-- someone Hazel gets along with really well. A friend! Does Hazel get on board with hunting down Obsidian partially due to the fact that he thinks he killed a good friend of his?

Sadly with the people around Obsidian at the time I genuinely don’t think there would’ve been any way for him to avoid being hunted down, he was the scapegoat and everyone trusted Milo way more than Obsidian. And with the fact that Murphy is Milo’s father, it was more plausible for someone other than his son to kill him. Especially because in public all Milo did was praise Murphy.

And to answer your question: Murphy was Hazel’s closest friend and ally, they told each other practically everything. Hazel was genuinely devastated when he died and never truly recovered from it all, he changed a lot after that day. So yeah he was pissed at Obsidian and that was his final straw for ever seeing him as his brother.

He has horrific mood swings he can’t control that can result in him going into an age regressed state due to trauma inflicted on him being too much for him to handle in intense moments. Which is kind of similar to DID but I wouldn’t necessarily call it that, DID is a lot more complex.
