the irony behind being upset that lupita nyong’o was cast as helen of troy for christopher nolan’s The Odyssey is so hilarious. our world’s history starts in africa and as things developed, moved towards europe/asia (africa still being included). our world started in areas full of or mostly completely of POC’s. is it really so insane to assume that helen of troy could’ve been black? also, hello, guys. we still don’t even know if the trojan war happened. none of this shit is even real. furthermore, homer never said what helen of troy looked like. he constantly just described her as noble, beautiful, and goddess-like. how about, instead of being upset that anyone could consider a black woman the most beautiful woman, maybe take a look in the mirror and reflect on why that makes you so upset? (and i know people would be less mad if helen of troy wasn’t described as ‘the most beautiful woman’… because they’re just racist)
