Peter died yesterday. He went on a mission with the team, and it... didn't go well for him. He got really hurt, but managed to hide it until the threat was neutralized and they got back to the tower. It wasn't until then that he collapsed.

Now, the place seems... hollow. There are cold spots and drafts that are especially noticeable in the penthouse. Peter's bedroom door is half-open, and part of the large window is fogged up, as if someone is breathing on it even though there's no one there. There's a heavy sound of footsteps, a steady pacing pattern back and forth.

Peter forgot that the Fourth of July was today when he went out for his evening patrol. He definitely should've remembered with all the decorations and stuff, but it didn't come to mind as he threw himself out his bedroom window and into the city.

It's a pretty quiet evening, so he decides to call it an early night and turns towards home right after sunset. The fireworks begin when he's mid-swing, and he harshly startles before slamming into the closed common room window. His fingers and toes just barely find purchase quickly enough to keep himself from falling.

Peter's taken dance since he was little. Pepper had put him in classes since with his asthma, he shouldn't have been running around outside in the heat so much, but he still needed something active. He quit the classes when he was about 10 since he ended up being bullied a lot for it, but he kept doing it with Natasha sometimes. He likes it even more now with his powers. That's not something he really talks about with others in the tower, though.

It's early in the morning, and he's in the training gym alone, practicing a routine with deft form and precision. He startles slightly, though, when he realizes someone is there, and freezes in place. "Uh... Hi. Sorry, I didn't notice you."

Peter rushed to his room the moment the team got home from the latest mission. He didn't say anything, just went in there, shut the door, changed out of his suit, and asked FRIDAY not to let anyone in.

A feature of today's fight was minds being messed with. Visions, whatever you call them. A lot of the team was afflicted with them, but Peter got really freaked out by his. It was like his nightmares, just even more real: losing control and hurting the people he loves. He remembers killing the people he loves, remembers their blood pooling on the ground around him, remembers the smell, remembers how it felt on his hands.

That's why he's hiding now. He lays curled in on himself on his bed, hands shaking as he tries not to think about the nightmarish vision. His heart rate spikes so hard that it overrides his command to FRIDAY, and she alerts the team of it.

Peter's been acting... off, lately. He's been aggressive, overconfident, and even egotistical. It started after he interacted with an odd alien substance that he'd been studying in the lab. It bonded with his suit, but he didn't really think much of it, just put it on and went out for patrol. He's been wearing it under his clothes since then.

He's bumped into by someone in the hallway a few days afterward. He scoffs uncharacteristically at them and quickly catches himself. "Watch it!"
