“Okay. This shirt, or this one?” Bucky asks holding up two different coloured shirts on hangers, one red and one blue. You were lounging lazily on his bed and watching through sad eyes as he got dressed. His hair was already slicked back into a neat bun and he had trimmed his beard and chest hair. He was now shirtless in his room and you ogled occasionally at his happy trail.

“Ummm… I think the blue one would look good on you!” You admitted because that’s the shirt you’d love for him to wear on a date with you. 

You really despised feelings, you were in deep for the soldier and it was completely unrequited. He hasn’t told you he doesn’t like you, but he hasn’t exactly shown any interest in you either. You just believed he saw you as his best friend and you were scared to push further in case you completely ruined your friendship with him. It took you a very long time to build a friendship with Bucky. He was so reserved and shut off but you were glad you didn’t give up so easily. 

“Why? I’m just curious.” He smirked slightly and watched your fingers fiddle with your strings on your hoodie. Or more specifically, his hoodie you had stolen weeks ago. 

“It matches your blue eyes. Makes them shine brighter and clearer.” You smiled and so did Bucky. He sat on the edge of his bed and sighed, resting one arm on his thigh. “She’s a lucky woman Buck.” You tried to hide your true emotions from him, but failed miserably when you decided to tear up.

“If you promise to stay alive just a little bit longer I promise that we are going to make this world a place worth living in by any means necessary. I ain’t giving up. I swear.”
