--one of my preferred hcs is that while the vongola did start off from a genuine vigilantly/good intent place, they couldn’t spin themselves as anything other than a budding mafia gang & *insert history research i need to do about mafia origins* they basically had no choice but to sink or swim in the political climate. giotto was too nice of a person to handle the weight of that, so he handed it off to someone else to manage that change when it got too much for him emotionally and he fled to japan essentially wiping himself clean of it. (basically jaded retiree!giotto and giotto young and fresh and in the ring are two very different sides of the same people) but like i said hc near and dear to my heart. 

--khr literally ends with it being like “tsuna is still the same old loser kid but now he has friends :’)” and I GET THAT??? like definitely a “no matter what happens you’re still you” deal but i feel like it would have hit harder if khr actually got into “the mafia is actually bad tsuna, but you’re still good and kind no matter what happens” or something like that to make it more genuine bc tsuna is a kind person!! but he’s a kind person that literally going to lead a criminal organization we gotta do something about that outside of the “i’m not as cruel as my enemies so it’s not actually that bad” mukuro wants the mafia gone for a reason and i can’t really blame him for that. 

first!!! generational repetitions to the point where the weapons are even named after the predecessor and people are like “oh just like this old dead guy :’)” just feels like lazy writing me. and the inability to see how things are different and how the new generation will be better. all the kids got were cooler looking weapons and more power outputs and cute pets.

it’s one thing for tsuna to use the same techniques utilized by giotto since they are related and whatnot it’s another thing entirely for him pull out his old dead grandpa’s cloak like that!!! like what weird shit was happening that the ring and box weapon was like “ah a unique weapon and equipment just for tsuna who is exactly like his old relative :’)”

the only giotto tsuna knows about is the piece of his soul left in that ring, just a little blip in a moment of his life. he gladly takes up the mantle of neo primo bc, of course, giotto is the kindest out of all the bosses, never mind that he doesn’t know anything at all about the vongola as a whole or even giotto before and after that point. it’s completely biased but i also don’t blame him as much as i blame the adults that constantly drew parallels and pushed him towards this role until the only option left in his mind was to accept and be proud of his extremely shady and criminal job now. 

he’s walking in with blind acceptance basically and i feel bad for him actually. it feels as though there isn’t a lot that’s uniquely his and khr isn’t self-aware enough to tap into that, but boy do i feel it. 

also something about tsuna being a melee fist-fighter + flames shooting out of his hand now that i’ve recently thought about it is??? but that’s personal opinion overall.

ok enough about tsuna!!! let’s move onto others but mainly chrome and hibari.

all i have to say about hibari is canon needs to stop trying to convince me he’s a cop bc that boy is just a delinquent rich boy that does whatever the hell he wants bc he’s rude and knows he’s above the law. he just makes his own laws.

I know I talked a lot about tsuna but chrome is really where a lot of bigger feelings come from. I have a lot of feelings about chrome in general. I do not consider mukuro the mist guardian because he repeatedly states how much he hates the mafia and doesn’t want anything to do with it and actually sticks with those feelings. He’s just along for the ride since he cares a lot about chrome and will rend heaven, hell, and earth for her. (I see their relationship as strictly platonic). The whole damn series is literally worth it for her.

Generational parallel in regards to chrome is probably the biggest insult you can give her??? Like did y’all not have an entire fucking arc where the big bad was literally the first generation mist guardian that kidnapped her and emotionally abused and manipulated enma basically his entire life on top of murdering his family!!!! and now you wanna tell me “haha the first and tenth generations are exactly the same” just say you’re ok with giving chrome the short end the stick and go!!!

(enma and chrome are best friends now due to shared trauma and similar temperments and you can take that out of my cold, dead hands. they are my faves.)

The mist earrings look super cute on her though I will admit that but it was super disappointing that she couldn’t activate the final form move/cool powerup even tho, given the track record, it would have probably also been that staff thing. Which would do her a big disservice because chrome’s fighting style isn’t even like a majority of the mist users—she’s definitely more big power outputs and powerful swings and basically uses her trident more like slashing weapon than a pokey one.
