Hi there! I was just poking through this and it sounds like a great idea. I just have some questions about what not be allowed and how you'd match people? Especially for some of the darker themes. Would creators have to specify what they would and would not be willing to write? Would requests have to include a least one lighter prompt? Apologies for the long ask, I just worry about how sensitive content will be handled when it's working with strangers.

Things that aren’t allowed will simply be explicit NSFW. Any dark theme (suicide, abuse, minor/adult relationships, etc) will be allowed, so long as it is treated with respect and are properly trigger and squick tagged! Writer’s are totally free to choose to write anything they want, and only have to submit one idea they know they want to write, no matter how dark or light it may ve!
As for matching people, when it comes time, I will have writers submit summaries to me, along with a list of squicks and triggers the fic may contain (I will be asking on sign up forms for squicks and triggers, so I can make a list of what people need to mark down as in their fic ahead of time). From there, artists will select 5 fics they may be interested in, with how much interest there is already, I feel there’s a low chance of any fic not having at least one interested party.

hey, i looked at your rules page, but i was also wondering about the statuses of nsfw (of teenagers) and adult-kid relationships-- are those things allowed or does all that count under "don't be nasty"? im REALLY sorry to ask something that should be obvious in such a pointed way lol but You Know How It Is Sometimes :(

Disclaimer: A lot of this is based off how I interact with fandom on a daily basis, so I understand if it turns some away from participating
On the topic of NSFW:
There will be a blanket ban on Explicit sexual NSFW of any character.Â
Writers can, however, still have any characters discuss sex/related topics
Non-sexual NSFW, such a gore, will not be restricted at this time.
On the topic of adult-minor relationships:
Not blanket banned, but this an item where the dark themes rules come into play: not only will they have to trigger and squick warn for it, but they will also have to treat it realistically and respectfully as a dark theme.
Including it as just a nomal, casual thing will be banned – as it’s a major squick and I wouldn’t be able to even read a summary with that included.

Hello, it seems there’s been some confusion as to what a Big Bang is, and I’m sorry, as I do believe it is my fault! I should have taken more time to explain it!
While it is similar to a zine, it’s a bit less organized, and totally free for anyone to look at the content, and there’s no monetary gain for anyone participating (sorry to anyone that turns away from the project)!
From the Fanlore page on it, as it can describe it better than I can:
A Big Bang is a specific type of challenge usually involving long fics and accompanying artwork. This type of challenge is a reprise of the old zine tradition of collaboration between artists and writers for internet fandoms.
Most Big Bangs have a similar format: Writers sign up and begin writing stories. When the early drafts of the stories are available, each one is assigned one or more artists, or artists might claim stories from posted summaries. Artists create fanart to go along with the story. This art can take the form of illustrations, manips, photo collages, vids, icon sets, etc.
Of course, there is some organization. I will reblog any and all works posted on tumblr here, and linking to ones not posted here. There will also be a collection on Ao3, where all fics/art posted there will be added together!
There will also be a discord, where people can discuss their works and ask for any help/advice they may need, so you won’t be on your own, if you want to speak with others who may sign up!
