I have an AWESOME IDEA on how to break up Caleo
Calypso-Canon (My Calypso Headcanon):
For Calypso, she should have a bi awakening. After meeting - and falling in love with - hundreds of annoying men, all who had gf's already, and breaking her heart almost every time, she deserves a girl. When she finally gets off the island, meeting women for the first time in thousands of years, she gains a new level of admiration for them.
Nyssa was an enigma for Cal, something beautiful but hard to reach. She always seemed so confident, and bold, contrasting with Calypso's dainty nature During her stay at Camp Half-Blood, she found herself constantly looking for ways to be close to Nyssa, not really knowing why. Later on, maybe after ToA is over, when the 7 get back together, and Cal meets Shel, Piper's girlfriend, she finally realizes what she had been feeling for Nyssa wasn't just friendship or jealousy. At that point, the two were already best friends, Nyssa being one of Calypso's closest confidants for almost anything. With a closer talk with Piper, and some self-reflection, she realizes that she is in love with Nyssa. When she finally decides to break up with Leo, coincidentally, (let's just say that some quest happened in between and Jason is back or smth, or maybe hes been meeting Jason's ghost??), has also fallen out of love with Calypso, and they have a mutual break-up.
Now, for them to actually get together, Leo and Piper became official wingmen for Calypso (but were secretly double-agents, also helping Nyssa on the other side, shhh), attempting to convince her that she should ask Nyssa out. Calypso, on the other hand, felt traumatized by the idea and refused to believe that she would receive any response other than a rejection, even after Leo explicitly mentioned Nyssa's crush on Cal. Leo and Piper even convinced Nyssa to explicitly flirt with Cal, but, in denial, she though it was a 'friendly gesture' (quoting piper, "What is friendly about a kiss on the forehead??????" quote Cal, "I don't know, she must have been comforting me!" quote Leo, "why the f- would someone comfort you after you laughed over one of her lame jokes like the simp that you are?!?!??!?!!"). Eventually, it took alcohol, truth or dare, one truth, and a dare for 7 minutes in heaven, but they finally got together.
Through their relationship, Cal finds out that:
a. she's pansexual.
b. she's asexual (found after a make-out sesh + an awkward overstep + an even more awkward, but needed and good talk).
c. her denial stimmed from internalized homophobia (+ sexual repression from falling for hundreds of guys๐).
d. she loves Nyssa. more than anyone before. their love was organic - it was something that came from herself, not some God's curse
Along with a bunch of 'cool' facts that she vents about when she has girl nights with Pied Piper (quote piper "See? I told you that you were in loveee").
